Manipulated Conservatives: Transgendered Bathrooms are Trivial
As I watch people get involved with dramas over this issue, I think: What is it that we are not supposed to pay attention to?
What is it that the elites, the media and the government don't want us to notice?
Is it the loss of our history and culture with the change with monies, another knife in the gut by the Obama administration?
Is it the subtlest of this election?
Is it the lousy depression like statistics in some areas of the country?
Is it the invasion of western Civ and our country in particular by forign nationals?
Is it crime committed by the same?
Is it how news goes down sinkholes? Like the San Bernardino case and others?
Is it how the left is preparing for demonstrations and government destabilization?
Is it that with these silly little dramas the important work of organizing and offering a counteroffensive to the near lethal blows to our country and culture are eliminated?
Trivial to YOU perhaps. To me, it’s just another milestone along the road to total decadence and cultural suicide.
We must stop this slide at some milestone or another. Saying this is too trivial tells me you must think all the previous milestones we have already passed are too trivial to make a stand on as well. Perhaps when they demand we allow pedophiles to run daycare centers, that will be non-trivial enough for you to care, eh?
Those pushing the notion that social issues are irrelevant willfully ignore the most fundamental protection our country has against the great dangers it faces. As Ronald Reagan (and others before him) succinctly put it: "America is great because she is good. If America ceases to be good, America will cease to be great." We ignore at great peril the truth that morality is at the heart of why we have prospered as a nation.

Exactly. Apparently there are numerous posters on this thread who have surrendered on the "social issues" with nary a protest, yet can't understand why the juggernaut to destroy marriage, the family - even our very nature as male or female - continues unabated.
It appears that there are libertarians on this forum posing as conservatives. i.e., they care only about economic issues and have little to no interest in preserving and protecting the moral foundation of our country.
Truth be told, they could care less if all those "sanctimonious right-wing Christians" are charged with crimes, fined, and jailed (e.g. Kim Davis), so long as their own pocketbook continues to grow fatter.
They constitute a fifth-column in this forum, which stands unapologetically in defense of marriage and the family as designed and intended by our Creator.
It is disconcerting to see posters expressing the view that opposing gay marriage is a lost cause, and that the transgender bathroom issue is a non-starter, a big "ho hum" that only the "right-wing fringe" cares about. We need to focus on the "bigger issues" (i.e.,$$$$).
There is no "bigger issue" than the defense of the fundamental building block of human society: the natural family. The LGBTQXYZ movement is the tip of the spear to overturn the Judeo-Christian morality upon which this great country was built.
It is utter hypocrisy to claim to be a conservative yet claim to be unconcerned that the gaystapo fanatics will stop at nothing until all who oppose them are punished and driven to ruination. That means that your three little girls (yes I'm talking to you Chickensoup) WILL be required to share toilets, changing rooms, and showers with ANY biological male who chooses to self-identify at that moment as "female" -- regardless of any possible evil motivation.
That is why true conservatism -- and the stated philosophy of Free Republic -- is at least as concerned about "social issues" as it is with economic issues.

However, I don’t want to lose the country because we allow something that a President can do little about to trump the one thing we desperately need a President to do, enforce immigration laws.

I’m particularly sensitive to the creation of pseudo religious empires in a civil society. Especially ones in which state and federal interests as historically delineated and which should be scrupulously followed, haven’t been. To the extent that his opinion is an expression of that division than he is correct.
I’m not for creating utopian dreams, Sharia-like conditions, Munster like rebellions in an imperfect world. I’ll leave that to the religious zealots who would seek to micro-manage a President who is suppose to adhere to some fundamentals to right the ship - illegal immigration and economic self-destruction are two prominent ones. You can obsess over bathrooms while the US sinks to third-world status. But while you’re clinging to your potties at least make sure at some point the toilet paper is made in the USA because to lose any economic future and have your bathrooms unisexed well that’s got to be a real utopian nightmare. Or maybe not.

However, the reality is that under the Obama administration the EEOC (Equal Employment Opportunity Commission) has been at the forefront of forcing school districts across the country to allow transsexuals to use bathroom and shower facilities of the opposite sex, as well as advancing the gay agenda throughout the highest levels of the government.
The solution for that is to stop going to planet fitness. If it becomes a big enough problem, planet fitness will change their policy or go out of business. That is the private sector solving a problem that gov’t should stay out of.
We can’t say we are for limited gov’t staying out of peoples’ business and then want gov’t to get involved in our personal social justice issues. That’s right wing social justice warrioring, and it’s just as bad as left wing social justice warrioring.
Let the private sector handle it.
Unfortunately, the damage keeps getting done until the private sector handles it. Men exposing themselves to girls is not a private sector issue.
If you want the government out of people’s business, start with getting rid of Welfare. When you accomplish that, we’ll talk about giving rights to perverts.

The only reason it’s not the hill for you to die on is because your boy stepped in it today and said it was fine for men to use women’s bathrooms and locker rooms. So when the Donald comes out in support of pedophilia, partial birth abortion and repeal of age of consent laws those won’t be worth fighting or either I’m sure. In a word, no. At least fewer and fewer do. I teach at a Southern University. Every year, I see more and more atheist students. Because it is Southern, it is not as bad as the North or West coast, but it is only 15-20 years behind.
The question we MUST ask ourselves is, since soon we (believing, practicing Christians) will become the minority of Americans, what will become of us?
