There is not much debate about this in terms of what Manafort did in the Ukraine. The American Thinker had two articles on this back when the Ukrainian Crisis originally hit. No, but Manafort was intimately involved with a former Communist in the Donbass area of Ukraine - where there has been a war since he left Ukraine. Southeast Ukraine is Yanukovych country. Yanukovych is a Soviet apparatchik of the worst kind and Manafort loved the guy and was very close to him.

Yes, I understand your skepticism, but it is now being revealed what the Donald will do and who he will ask for help when political life gets tough - yes, Republican insiders - and you cannot get more deep inside the Manafort. Thus, strangely enough, with the likes of Manafort, the Republican voters have found themselves back to square one. Manafort was deeply involved in McCain’s debacle, and his lobbying colleagues coached Romney’s losing bid in 2012. Can anyone say Bob Dole? Yes, Manafort ran his losing campaign in 1996 and originally stuck up for Ford against Reagan in 1976. The idea that this campaign is an insurgency is really not true. What is actually happening is a repeat performance of 2008 and 2012 in spite of Trump’s political incorrectness and stand on immigration - with deep Republican insiders back in the saddle. Wonderful ....
