General Grant helped win the war, but President Grant botched the peace. Reconstruction was so poorly administered and heavy-handed that it caused the KKK, kept the country divided needlessly after the war, and helped corrupt bureaucrats get rich off the taxpayers. In the process, it cause the deaths of many innocent black people and exacerbated a racial divide for generations.

His administration was scandal after scandal and multiple financial problems, most notably the Panic of 1873.

The fact that Grant accomplished anything positive in his life, even if outside of elective office, certainly ranks him ahead of the execrable Zero, who unquestionably earns the rating of worst in history. One of the few Presidents who demonstrably will leave office having left his country in far worse shape (economically, socially, morally, spiritually) than he inherited it.

I don’t want to get into a discussion on reconstruction but, we have still racial problems because of the bastards who wouldn’t allow Blacks to have equal rights, period. Blaming it on Grant is ridiculous.

My opinion of him, American hero. Maybe not a great President but I certainly would have voted for him over dem Horatio Seymour Butts and kooko bird Horace Greeley. Deserves to be on money? Eh, I wouldn’t totally shaft him, at least leave him on the back of the 50. Worse than Obama? Of course not. Of course not.

Changing the money, Reagan belongs on something, I probably would not approve any other changes until that happened. I don’t like that it’s feminists pushing for his. And I don’t like that Jack Lew can apparently decide by himself? Congress should decide.

That said, Tubman, good choice, deserving. Thank God they didn’t put that proto-Hillary scum Elanor Roosevelt on it. I think she’s going on the back of something. Barf.

Jackson (D), if they were gonna shaft someone I’m glad it was him. Kind of a cool guy, but I wouldn’t have voted for him. The democrats were NEVER the good guys but I think he’d be disgusted with the current state of his party.

Hamilton, “in league with the British”? Well I heard that the Jeffersonians are in the league with the French revolutionary radical scumbags! Give me the British over them. And give me an evil bank over an agrarian fantasy. I don’t want our new nation to be some backwater! ;d

The GOP is descended from the Federalist Party, Hamilton was a key founding father, key figure in early conservatism, the first Treas Sec, he absolutely should stay on the 10. It’s ironic that the fact that some Broadway guy making a musical about him may have saved him but, whatever.
