I believe you have it backwards. We have to be right morally, and therefore right with God, before we’ll ever get to the point that God will bless us with fiscal blessings again.
We became a rich and prosperous nation because our laws were indistinguishable from God’s commands. Abortion and homosexuality and adultery were shamed and punished, for instance. It wasn’t some accident that our laws were made like His laws, and it wasn’t some accident that we were richly blessed for that obedience.
It’s only been in the past few decades, when we’ve collectively rejected God’s commands, that we’ve become worse than bankrupt, trillions of dollars in debt, debt that we’ll never be able to repay. Shameless depravity has divine consequences.
Laws like chattel slavery?
Laws like Jim Crow?
Laws like welfare bribery?
I may not have a finance degree, but I'm pretty sure this is not sound economic policy.
