Joe Scarborough: Donald Trump Is A Centrist Democrat On Social Issues, "It's Not Been A Secret"
RCP ^ | 4/22/16 | Tim Hains

Posted on 04/22/2016 8:39:14 AM PDT by KansasGirl

Joe Scarborough reacts to the debate surrounding the revelation of "two Donald Trumps" -- a conservative primary Trump giving way to a centrist general election Trump.

JOE SCARBOROUGH: [Trump] is going back to what he has always been. We have said on this air nonstop. He is a Democrat. He is a centrist Democrat. Who gave money to Democrats for years. He has never been a conservative. That's not been a secret to anybody. And yet he has blown the doors off every Republican primary.

And when he goes into the general election, it is going to be harder for Democrats to say he has been a right wing religious fanatic who is going to keep you away from abortion, and keep you away from same-sex...

It doesn't make it right or wrong, it makes it harder for Democrats.

Trump flipped and flopped on H1Bs. Did you miss that debate or just disregard what he said? Cruz came out in opposition to them after learning how they were being abused, and he has stuck with that position. Also, Trump himself hires foreign workers over Americans. He is BSing you.

He’s a “centerist Democrat” on social issues and a good old fashioned Democrat on tax issues.

Thanks Trumpies. But, wait, he’s against The Establishment, so that makes him our nominee.

Because we cannot lose this election. There is more at stake than social issues. This election is about the very survival of America and its identity. We need a candidate who can do battle with the media.

More at stake than social issues? How about tax issues? His American identity is just old fashioned liberalism.

And he’s going to loose big time.

There are no more Centrist Democrats in today’s Democrat Party....Barack Hussein Obama, Nancy Pelosi & Harry Reid destroyed them all. All that is left in the current day Democrat Party is extreme, left-wing socialists & communists. End of story. GO DONALD J. TRUMP!!!

Here in California, we often are faced with having two Democrats running for the same office in the general election due to our “jungle” primary. If Trump gets the nomination, we get to have two Democrats on the ballot at the national level as well - one will just have an “R” after his name for appearance’s sake.

Trump is plant. This whole scheme was concocted by the Clinton’s and Trump. Get him to use his big stage presence and spout the republican mantra of borders and culture get folks on both sides riled up and to rip the party apart then the plan was that he would get slammed and he would bail out. Only problem is that it stuck with a lot of folks and now he’s where he is at.

If Trump gets the nomination, which is by no means a certainty, the country will have to decide between a centrist democrat and a far left democrat.

Jeff Session was a co-sponser of the Corker Bill, along with Ted Cruz.

You might need to re-think what an “insider” is.

Kansas Girl, it’s become standard operating procedure for trumpers that after Trump says something that I guess he means but which is horrible, the trumpers all say...”oh, Trump doesn’t think that .. he made it clear on his website.”

Has Trump read his own website? Maybe he should head over there and brush up.

By Cruz ‘stole’ the wall, I assume you mean he brought it up way earlier than Trump did.

IMHO the Social Conservatives and Economic Conservatives are going their separate ways. Big corporations, who benefit from lassiez-faire economic policies, throw their weight around on bathroom bills. People who care about preborn life and traditional marriage typically have been victimized by free trade. Not a surprise then that candidates are being forced to choose sides as well.

It sure has been a secret here on this board.

Cruz is running for president...what good would it do for him to oust Schafly now? btw she personally endorsed Trump..the organization did not

You ask a reasonable question. But considering the irrational attacks that Cruz has been making against Trump, by cherry picking & distorting the significance of what he cherry picks--thus antagonizing a lot of people who were drawn to him by his previous reputation for integrity--I am not sure that he has not lost all objectivity on things relating to Donald Trump. The cheap personal attacks hurt his credibility, but he persists.

Since Cruz's strong suit used to be on discussing the actual issues, the personal attacks clearly make less and less sense.
