Trump rejects new adviser’s push to make him ‘presidential’ [troubles with Manafort]
Politico ^ | 04/26/2016 | KENNETH P. VOGEL and ELI STOKOLS

Posted on 04/26/2016 6:30:49 AM PDT by GIdget2004

Donald Trump is bristling at efforts to implement a more conventional presidential campaign strategy, and has expressed misgivings about the political guru behind them, Paul Manafort, for overstepping his bounds, multiple sources close to the campaign tell POLITICO.

Trump became upset late last week when he learned from media reports that Manafort privately told Republican leaders that the billionaire reality TV star was "projecting an image" for voters and would begin toning down his rhetoric, according to the sources. They said that Trump also expressed concern about Manafort bringing several former lobbying colleagues into the campaign, as first reported by POLITICO.

Now Trump is taking steps to return some authority to Manafort's chief internal rival, campaign manager Corey Lewandowski.

Neither Lewandowski nor Manafort responded to requests for comment, though Manafort on Sunday during an interview on Fox News blamed Lewandowski's regime for shortcomings in the campaign's delegate wrangling operation. Lewandowski's allies responded by privately questioning whether Manafort has done anything to improve the situation. They grumble that Manafort has spent a disproportionate amount of time on television -- just as Trump himself has been avoiding the Sunday morning talk show circuit at Manafort's urging.

"I think it pisses him off that he was getting free television by going on the shows and now Paul Manafort is out there resurrecting his career," said one campaign operative. Citing Manafort's advocacy within the campaign for an expensive advertising push in upcoming states, the operative said Trump is "saying I can get on every show I want for free and you're telling me not to do that and that I should pay for my advertising? That doesn't pass the smell test to me."

“The Donald is stuck at a 6th grade level mentally, “

If that’s true then it’s really embarrassing to be Bush, Graham, Rubio, Cruz, Kasich...you know, all those really smart people who have gotten their A$$es handed to them on a silver platter.

“Well then you don’t have to worry. “

Believe me, I’m not worried, I’m really enjoying all this.

“...Manafort on Sunday during an interview on Fox News blamed Lewandowski’s regime for shortcomings...”

I just went back and watched the interview again and Manafort said no such thing. He never mentioned Lewandowski and never said anything about shortcomings. Since the article got their central argument wrong, I call BS on the whole thing.

“Well then you don’t have to worry. The Donald is stuck at a 6th grade level mentally, so unless you want him to act presidential for his 6th grade classmates, you’ll get your wish.”

Haven’t yet found another forum in which to post? You may get help soon.

Manafort is there to battle Reindeer Penis and the other RNC Jackals.

Corey is still running the day to day.

Trump is running them.

Let Trump be Trump, that is why he fills 15,000 seat stadiums.

This Presidential Crap is nonsense. Clinton wasn’t Presidential, Harry “give em hell” Truman wasn’t Presidential.

The most commanding leader in the world Putin isn’t Presidential, but he is EFFECTIVE.

We need a President that can get this economy moving, and destroy ISIS.

Trump didn’t get where he is by surrounding himself with people he agrees with.

Beware of anything from POLITICO. They have a history of rumor mongering. Anything for a buck.

You said it all!

I can’t wait to see who Trump brings to DC with him—we will be so proud!

He has a knack for getting the right person for the job.

This is the same Politico that reported Trump was turning on Corey Lewandowski based on “insider sources,” that there was a power struggle and Manafatort was now in charge, even though they had entirely different titles and responsibilities.

Thanks for that, as this was the strongest part of their article.

I don’t believe this...it was written by a third rate media outlet...

Manafort and Trump have been friends for years, Manafort lives in Trump Towers...he was hired to do the delegate thing for Trump and that’s what he has been doing, and he has said to George Steppi; Wallace and a lot of other talking heads, Trump runs this campaign, every move, every word, where he goes, what he does, who he talks to...

It’s just another piece to get you to wonder about Trump...if Trump takes the next 5 States, this nomination is over, it’s over anyway since New York, but the two clingers will be gone after tonight...

GO.TRUMP.GO!!! ALL THE WAY TO THE OVAL OFFICE!!!

I really really really really DON’T want Trump to be more presidential.

I don't think you have to worry.

Or it says more about those who follow Trump than those he is "beating" in this race.

Trump is a perfect candidate for a country that mainly cares about who was voted off the island and loves the contrived drama and name calling of a "Real Housewives..." show.

I don’t either. Manifotd was brought in for delegate counts. Since trump is getting 1237 outright, he should continue doing what he has been. I like lewendowski. Trump is smart to keep him at the top. Considering trump had a campaign of 3 people, it is miraculous how great he’s done. Corey and the woman spokesperson are invaluable. I hope both are in his administration somewhere.

He’s winning. What’s not to like. He speaks like the super majority of Americans do. Not slick lawyer like Cruz.
