The whole B&W show is awesome as well. Just trying to pick out all the people with him: Springsteen, Costello, KD Lang, Bonnie Raitt, Tom Waites and many others I do not recognize

I believe that song is about the death of his wife and child in a house fire. He always wore black after his loss.
