Smoke From a Distant Fire by the Sanford-Townsend Band features possibly the bast lyric ever: Don’t let the screen door hit you on your way out.

Barbra Streisand & Neil Diamond: "You Don't Bring Me Flowers Anymore"

Neil stole the melody from the second movement of Rachmaninov's Second Symphony. He even used the same key: C Major.

I have heard several songs about Lucille, and all of them give a negative impression. Here's one of them.

It is hard to narrow down to a "favorite" with Roy, but, this may be the one for me:

Mystery Girl - Roy Orbison

Personal story on this one (if I may?) One Sunday after church I am talking to the minister, another guy comes up and says:

"Hey, Roy Orbison just released a new CD"

Another guy joined us, we drove to the record store, all of his bought it, sight unheard and drove around the beach area that afternoon listening to that album. I think we played Mystery Girl three or four times!

You know, I hate break up songs and just can’t see the point of listening to something emotional while you’re dealing with hurt. That said, this Taylor Swift song is perfect - no sentimentality, and deals with the neurotic behaviors that hurt recurrently in some relationships. Good choice.
