Obama Admits Couldn't "Convince Americans Of Recovery", Bashes 'The Big Short' (book, movie)
Zero Hedge ^ | 28 April 2016 | Tyler Durden

Despite his proclamation that he "saved the world from a Great Depression," the fact is that Obama will be the first President ever to not see a single year of 3% GDP growth - but only cynical fiction-peddlers would mention facts at a time like this. In yet more legacy-defending narrative, Obama told The NYTimes today that his biggest failure was being unable to sell his success in putting the American economy back on track to the American people (no matter the actual realities) careful to blame Republicans for slowing growth "by a percentage point or two." And then in a final affront to fact, Obama dismisses the conclusion of "The Big Short" proclaiming that he reined in Wall Street, overhauled the banking system, and made water from wine "the financial system substantially more stable."

With regard his presidential legacy, Obama recently said he was proud of the healthcare reforms, and added that:

The fact is, Bush had already fixed the basic problems with the world economic meltdown he had nothing to do with, before he left office and Obama claimed credit. Then say and did nothing for the next 8 years while the economy drifted.

Obama Admits Couldn't "Convince Americans Of Recovery"

Because too many could see through the manipulated numbers during the last 7+ years.

Some 92 million not in the workforce is a big clue.

And let’s face it, it was more the Fed that saved the system than the Bush administration. Although then you have to add that the Fed did a lot to create the problems in the first place.

Obama’s biggest failing:
“Well, that the stupid Americans didn’t see how great I was”.
He then offered the most sincere apology ever:
“I’m sorry America is too dumb to recognize the presence of greatness”.

I don’t think I’ve ever felt such loathing for a politician. It’s hard to pick between him and Shrillary... like who’s most evil?? Hitler or Stalin?

Hey nobama, before you can sell success you have to have success. Your biggest failure was being born.

“The Big Short” was terrific.

If I had know Dear Leader didn’t like it I would have enjoyed it even more.

You are pretty accurate with that statement. Had that idiot McCain won in 08 more than likely we would have had a booming economy the last 8 yrs or something far better than the current malaise and regulated into a death spiral economy we have now.

Trying to sell an invisible recovery that no one can see doesn’t work too well in the real world.

I just saw the big short on DVD, then went into work the next day and took $300K from my 401K out of the stock market.

For 7 years, Obama and his media minions have said how GREAT! the economy is, because if they told the truth it would COMPLETELY Collapse.

I’ll buy back in when it crashes and NOBODY gets a bailout, this time... or there will be blood in the streets.

Obama knows why he can't convince people, and journalists know too. They just don't want to report the facts we all know. We're losing jobs, and those who still have jobs are working for far less or working multiple part-time jobs.

Just watched Big Short, very disappointed they made no mention of the Democrat congress ordering banks to make loans to the poor.

You mean people didn’t buy the “jobless recovery” just because Obama said so? In fact, it wasn’t even a jobless recovery. It was a job-full recovery - if you were on Wall Street or in India. Everyone else was screwed.

That’s incredible; it was a central part of the crisis. Even worse, that same government is now ordering “reparations” to those unqualified borrowers who were “deceived” by the banks.
