The Washington Post published an article listing five candidates likely to be considered to be Trump's vice president. U.S. Senator Joni Ernst of Iowa is on that list.

Ernst is Iowa's first female U.S. Senator. Ernst was not well known When she ran for the senate seat vacated by the retiring Tom Harkin.

KWWL-TV caught up with Ernst and asked if she would consider serving as Donald Trump's vice president. "I would say, 'did my mother pay you to say that?', Ernst said. "But, no. I would have to consider it, but I love what I do in the United States Senate, and I love working with Iowans."

Ernst says she hasn't heard from the Trump campaign. She says she won't endorse a candidate anytime soon.

excerpt:

During a debate with Democratic candidate Rep. Bruce Braley on Saturday, Ernst was asked whether she would vote to end Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, a policy that allows undocumented young people who came to the U.S. as children to stay for two years or more.

“No, I would not,” replied Ernst, who is currently an Iowa state senator.

And Trump, likewise, is no Conservative. He is a nationalist progressive Populist for an aggressive role for the Federal Government. Examine the record.

Jim Demint is a good man, but I don’t see him as still being hugely ambitious at this stage in his life. He’s more comfortable leading Think Tanks and policy conferences, sort of like Paul Ryan.

If I understand you correctly,Rubio who was also running for President, as well as Jindal were also not eligible? That’s 3 Republicans who then believed that they could game the system and our constitution and run for office.

And out of all the legal scholars in the country, everyone with the exception of Mark Levin is keeping this quiet because once anyone of them is nominated, their opponents and every legal scholar, with the exception of Mark Levin, can then say they are not eligible.

That’s your story? Who exactly planned this conspiracy involving thousands of legal scholars, the media and hundreds of politicians?

Let me guess... George Soros.

Because he hates us. Sellout Lying Ted had had chance after chance to do what’s right and speak up against leftist agitators who want to MAKE AMERICA MEXICO AGAIN.
Instead he tells us to STFU and blames Republican voters for causing it. Not the way to win a primary. I would have been happy to vote for this sellout of a man before Chicago.

I started off as a supporter of Cruz, and it became clear once the pressure of having Trump enter the race, that Cruz had some serious issues as a candidate, I would draw an analogy between Ted Cruz and (appropriately) a classic Cuban Edsel along with other cars from the 50's that were trapped without genuine parts or service after Castro took over, they were kept running through ingenuity, jerry rigging, applying non-automotive solutions, but even with all of those herculean efforts, underneath the sheet metal?

It's still an Edsel:

I predict that after this election cycle is over, that there will be at least one or more books coming
out that will attempt to analyze and explain "What Went Wrong With Cruz", after this wild and in
some cases, unseemly drama that we have witnessed, I can't see him continuing in politics.

Agree with Duncan Hunter. He has the experience from his Congressional background. It seems that he has his dad’s honesty and integrity also. On the other hand, Judge Jeanine has the brashness and boldness of Trump.
