Donald Trump Begins to Plot His Post-Nomination Future
More at link: Donald J. Trump will decide in the next week whether to accept support from super PACs. He is leaning toward a conventional political figure as a vice presidential pick. He has not yet spoken with Senator Ted Cruz. And those haters whove been the most critical of him? He doesnt necessarily want their support.
Those were a handful of comments Mr. Trump made in four phone-in interviews on morning TV shows the day after he became the Republican partys presumptive nominee.
Mr. Trump told the hosts of Morning Joe on MSNBC, in his first appearance of the day, that he was debating whether to accept support from super PACs. Mr. Trump had made bashing such groups a staple of his campaign stump speeches, and a change to embrace taking unlimited contributions from a single donor would be significant.
Thanks for the ping. I saw some of this morning.
By Nolan D. McCaskill 05/04/16 06:54 AM EDT Updated 05/04/16 07:50 AM EDT Donald Trumps campaign has begun vetting vice-presidential picks, but its too soon to disclose any names, the presumptive Republican nominee said Wednesday.
Calling into MSNBCs Morning Joe following a decisive victory in Indiana that knocked Texas Sen. Ted Cruz out of the race, Trump was mum on naming people hes considering as his running mate.
Well, its too soon. I just dont want to do it, Trump said. I think that, you know, a lot of people are talking about certain names, and certainly those are the names we are thinking of.
He did, however, suggest he would choose a politician.
I have the business, lets call them talents, and I think Ill probably go the political route, he continued. Somebody that can help me with legislation and somebody that can help me get things passed and somebody thats been friends with the senators and congressmen and all so we dont have to go the executive order route as much as Obama did, you know, where he cant get anything approved so he just keeps signing executive orders.

I like Nest, but the perfect running mate would be a woman. Diffuse Hillary’s woman card, soften Trumps mean image and would be the first woman Vice President. However Carly didn’t seem to enhance Cruz did she? Still say a woman.
My son just said the exact same thing about the General. Lol
I think Trump has been chatting Newt up for Chief of Staff. He would be a good pick.
Donald Trump is the presumptive GOP nominee. Here are 5 people who could be his VP.
I agree. in fact it must be, but who? I’d like to see Condi...
Newt for Chief of Staff.
My money is on Rubio for VP.
I think he fits all criteria. Liked in Congress, young, minority, brings a swing state (FL).
He hasn’t been in Congress that long, but he was Speaker of the House in Florida so he is well experienced in legislative process.

Brilliant.
Agree.
Whomever it is needs to add voters and keep the energy high on the fight for the win. Needs to be someone people will be excited about and want to vote for.
I may like Newt but he should be in the administration just not VP.

Won’t happen..he’s an anchor baby.
She was tough on immigration in Arizona, supports the military, fought Obamacare, improved Arizona child protective services, is pro-life, supports the second amendment, and would challenge Clinton for the women's vote. She could also spearhead Trump's wall project.

Donald Trump needs a running mate: Here are four names for him to consider
I love Condi Rice but she REALLY wants to coach a football team that is her dream I don’t think she cares for politics!!!
He cannot pick Giuliani, even if he wanted to. They cannot both be from the same state.
Christie is from NJ, another NE state. He needs someone from elsewhere if state associated.
Love him!
Watch heads explode. lol He is a registered Democrat (has to-he is in Milwaukee) but a true patriot. Probably not the best for a VP but I sure hope he is involved with the Trump administration!
