LET IT GO! BOTH OF YOU!

I for one do not like the result of this primary race, but who would after they put their heart and soul into wanting to win. It was a classic battle, but Trump won. Just like military academies teach the logistics of histories greatest battles of war, so too will this epic battle be taught for generations to come by Political Science instructors. The lessons learned will effect the way politicians run their campaigns for decades.

Both sides got down and dirty, as they obliterated the detente that made everyone speculate about why the they refused to attack each other so early in the campaign. Often times those who are the best of friends can have the nastiest of breakups. Like a divorce that brings out the worse of two decent and honorable people, the Trump/Cruz war did not fail entertain the MSM, as supporters of both sides took things so personal that even family members ended up with strained relationships.

Being the youngest of 8 children I have seen my share of rough and tumble, knife throwing, dinner destroying, hair removing, black eye, and fat lip arguments over things that only siblings could lose it over. Well ladies and gentleman, like my parents said when enough was enough, “It's over, it's time to let it go!” Time to head to your own corner and stop.

FreeRepublic is a family. A dysfunctional one at times, but still a family. I would advise everyone from both sides of this fight to do as our parents told us. Drop it, and make up. Stop already with the insults, and accept defeat as a gracious loser or be humble in your win. Nothing good will come from those who are unable to drop the weapons and shake hands.

As for not voting for Trump in the General. Let me make this perfectly clear, with no ambiguity. When the Republican Convention anoints their candidate, regardless of who it is, I will vote for that candidate in November. I would just as soon murder my whole family and then drink cyanide before I allow my vote to get any Democrat elected to the White House. There is no greater threat what remains of our freedom than Hillary Clinton becoming the leader of this once great nation.

So with the words of a great American, which echo in my head when the going gets tough, I offer this phrase to all. “Let's Roll!” But let us all roll together for a common cause, the total and complete destruction of Hillary Clinton.

God bless America, and God bless Jim's vision for a great forum where true American's can come together to agree or at times even get rough and tumble as we throw knives, remove hair, give and get black eyes and fat lips.

Go Trump!

Let’s not act like it was all one-sided. There were plenty of snarky, rude, name calling Cruz supporters, too. I was called, at one time or another, A Trumpbot, Trumpanzee, Drumpf-hole, and many other rude things.

I agree it is time to heal, but question building a mythology about rude Trump (only) supporters. There was PLENTY of blame on both sides.

To all those I may have fought with, please accept my apologies, as I’m sure you wish to also apologize.

You Cruzablancans will always have Wisconsin.

I see some of Trump’s supporters are not quite ready to let it go yet.

I don't mind Trump winning, but there ought to be a day of reckoning for people who posted stuff like this.

This dehumanization of someone who fought for us in the manner that Ted Cruz did, is dishonorable and ought to be regarded as beneath the dignity of decent people.

If this had been my website, I would have zotted anyone that posted crap like that regarding someone that has fought for us in such an effective and public way. (Remember the budget Filibuster? Remember his role in defending Gun Rights? Remember him calling McConnell a "liar" on the Senate Floor?)

Now I can respect the idea that many people believed Trump was the better candidate, but I cannot respect the vile gutter trash behavior that some people exhibited regarding both candidates.

It was over the top vile. Everyone should have behaved better than this.

IMO, it's not just a question of political expediency.

Political campaigns are known for cruelly highlighting the flaws in each candidate. Let's just say that happened here, and leave it at that.

For the candidate it has to seem like being dropped into a blender. To family it has to seem like being dropped into the jaws of Hell.

Right now the Cruz family needs our prayers and support. People fill a lot of roles, but the most fundamental are as a person and as part of a family.

Cruz is a brilliant lawyer and by all appearances tries to be a good family man. This entire process was about one part of his life, the elected official.<> So, please, I hope we can all find it in ourselves to pray for healing for the Cruz family. Ted Cruz can be a better man and a better politician for this. That would be good for all of us.

So, I'm speaking to fellow Trumpers here...please be kind.

Bravo to you. Let me make one thing perfectly clear, as I was a strong Trump supporter, I will be as equally hard on him if he displeases me as our President. While he is beholding to no lobbyists, he is now beholden to the American people. The very people that gave him this victory, and hopefully in November the highest office in this land, are now his masters. Just as the framer's of this country intended.

We have all seen how Trump can change his positions, and if he does something that a majority find wrong, we must not be silent, nor must we be rude. Instead we must be insistent that he listen to the people who are standing with him to return this country to sanity and make it greater than it currently is, for those who think this country is still great, but will not remain great if we keep proceeding in the same direction we have been.

I will. Right after Raffy II gets 2 minutes in the penalty box for elbowing Heidi. He'll understand. He's Canadian. (You know he has a poster of Sidney Crosby in his proto-man cave.)

Yes Jeff, Cruz is a gentleman at heart. I started out liking Trump then switched to Cruz because he actually has a voting record, a very conservative record, and it was discomforting to think that Trump has no record of voting. Trump says many things I like, but how much does talk cost?

It’s come down to two choices, either vote for Hillary or vote against Hillary. I wasn’t a fan of Trump’s, but now that he looks like the nominee I’ll vote for him. I can’t imagine anything much worse than Hillary as President.

I’m thinking about getting a bumper sticker made that says, “Piss off a liberal. Vote Trump”

When a dog poos in the house, you rub his nose in it and put him outside.

I aim to rub some noses in this vile excrement. I'll wager some people are ashamed of the things they have posted. Maybe not the guy I got this stuff from, but many people will look back on their former hysteria and feel shame.

People need to be reminded just how vile they have sunk in attempting to push their preferred candidate. They had lost track of who they were.
