Donald Trump Won’t Change Platform to Appease Ryan: People Voted for Me ‘Because They Agree with What I’m Saying’

During Friday morning’s interview with Donald Trump on Breitbart News Daily, SirusXM host Stephen K. Bannon suggested House Speaker Paul Ryan withheld his endorsement to pressure Trump into dropping his positions on trade, the border wall with Mexico, bringing jobs back from China, and temporarily restricting Muslim immigration.

Nowhere in the article is Ryan quoted as the reasons listed as the reason he has not endorsed Trump...

My guess is the article is complete BS basically the author is taking liberties with the reporter question..

I think Ryan wants to set some ground rules with Trump on the process forward to get the RNC and Trump on the same page before the Speaker of the House does an endorsement...

Anybody really think Ryan would start making demands via the media when he could make a phone call...?

Ryan demands that Trump start acting like a conservative, support true conservative positions, and stop backsliding into supporting a leftist agenda now that he’s in the general election.

Are you seeing what I’m seeing?

Is considering a $15 minimum wage what you had in mind when you voted for Deceptive Donnie?

How about supporting the transgender agenda?

Is there any liberal position that he supports that won’t make you think you picked the wrong guy?

How far does he have to go to the left, before you will consider abandoning him?

Ironic - the Speaker, who has betrayed the People so many ways and caused the fractures, wants Trump to take his trash out for him - his really stinking trash.

He got a big head when he demanded concessions before he would "accept" the job and thinks Trump is a patsy too - might as well have just come out and endorsed Hillary.

Ryan needs to go.

“Gimmie a break. When has Ryan ever supported the so called “Constitutional Conservative base”.

Certainly it has been very rare. However, the article states that Ryan was attacking specific Trump positions. However, that was not true at all. The specific attacks on this thread are in response to the lies in the article.

Can’t we at least start being honest now that a nominee has been decided?

So you are OK with the at best misrepresentation in the article, or more likely the flat out lies?

You consider pushing Republican candidates to the right to be “childish.”

What a Brave New World.

“Ryan has shown zero willingness to fight to to stop Obama”

Very true, but the article is a conflation and not factual reporting. His statements in this regard were very general. He did not attack any specific Trump positions. The article “implies” that he did and the attacks on this thread continue with the implications.

You know it rules your mind, heart, and spirit.

So say it: #nevertrump.

Don’t repress your feelings. Don’t lie to yourself.

Just publically proclaim what is in your heart: #nevertrump

You can do it! Lol!

“You don’t run farther to the extremes in the general. You go right to the middle.”

You’re correct, that is the exactly the pattern of Progressives.

I would think that Trump being nominated as the next “Reagan Conservative” that will surely “make America great again” would be something worth sticking by and clarifying to the entirety of the party. You seem to think differently. That’s fine, but we should at least be honest about it and not fall for some reporter telling flat out lies.

“About 99% of all on FR are rightfully pissed at Ryan.”

Why are they pissed? He didn’t even say anything. If we can now be “rightfully” pissed by someones lies, then we have surely lost our collective minds.

“Deal with it.”

I guess I should simply learn to fall for lying liars and then call others names.

Let’s keep those postcards flowing... to Paul Ryan (and our local reps and senators)... Every Monday until Ryan and all the others are “ready” to support Trump.

It’s not over until Trump is actually the Republican nominee, not just the “presumptive” nominee. Everyone stay focused, and keep voting Trump in the remaining primaries. Keep focused until February 2017.

Postcards to:

Spkr. Paul Ryan
1233 Longworth HOB
Washington, DC 20515

This is what I’m writing on my postcards:

Support Trump2016
- or we vote DEMOCRAT down-ballot in November!
#MAGA

What’s wrong with these idiots??? They’re the reason Trump got into the race...To knock ‘em out, not to embrace and unite with them...

Problem is: they still control the Party...We have to take the control away from them...

I think the “attacks” are justified based on Ryan’s past lies and (lack of) action. It is not much of a stretch to see Ryan siding with his Cheap Labor Express masters over Trump or anybody else who actually might change the system he loves. Ryan sees himself as a leader worth following. In my view, the truth is that Ryan is an Obama enabling piece of excrement who richly deserves any scorn he reaps.

Trump is the presumptive nominee but the othrs did not quit their campaigns they only suspended them.

Trump still needs that magic number of 1237

The nominee HAS NOT BEEN DECIDED YET. Trump is the presumptive but if he doesn’t continue his rallies and asking for votes he could come up short at the convention.

He scared me silly yesterday at his rally when he said they didn’t need to vote next Tuesday. Yikes!

Seriously, Are you really this naive?

This is Ryan trying to show Trump whose boss and give cover for others to back his play!

Trump is in this for the American people first. Not the republican party and all the GOPe is well aware of his intentions.

The GOPe only have each other while Trump has millions of supporters and free access to the MSM. The fight will be one sided with Trump kicking some GOPe a$$es.
