I haven’t been on FR long, but I imagine it’s because Alex Jones can go a bit off on the “woo!” Illuminati conspiracy theory stuff. Maybe there are conspiracies that deep and high level, I don’t know, but as someone who has worked in aerospace for the last 20 years and understands what contrails are and how they form, I get a little eye-rolly every time I hear people going off about chem trails.

First, a belated *welcome* to FR, and thanks for answering that for old-ager and myself, I didn't recall the details of Alex Jones/Info Wars being on the prohibited list but that makes sense.

I defer to your experience in aerospace, although I still find it interesting to look over the results you get via Google if you enter the terms "chemtrails" + "spraying" + "planes".

Just sayin'.

As for the Illuminati? It's just light bulbs, light bulbs, see? ;)

BECK appears to have been trying to fulfill the White Horse Prophecy through TED CRUZ.

The White Horse Prophecy is a statement purported to have been made in 1843 by Joseph Smith, Jr., founder of the Latter Day Saint movement, regarding the future of the Latter Day Saints (Mormons) and the United States of America. The Latter Day Saints, according to the prophecy, would “go to the Rocky Mountains and ... be a great and mighty people”, identified figuratively with the White Horse described in the Book of Revelation. The prophecy further predicts that the United States Constitution will one day “hang like a thread” and will be saved “by the efforts of the White Horse”.[1]

Some have speculated, on the basis of the White Horse Prophecy, that Mormons expect the United States to eventually become a theocracy dominated by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church).[2][3] The authenticity of the prophecy as a whole, which was not made public until long after Smith’s death, is debated, and the leadership of the LDS Church has stated that “the so-called ‘White Horse Prophecy’ ... is not embraced as Church doctrine.”[4] However, the belief that members of the LDS Church will one day need to take action to save the imperiled U.S. Constitution has been attributed to Smith in several sources and has been discussed in an approving fashion by Brigham Young and other LDS leaders.

That 'White Horse Prophecy' does make a bizarre sort of sense, after all we've had a Black Donkey in the White House, it would be logical to now put a White Horse in the White House.

But it ain't gonna be Ted Cruz.

I caught the direct link from Drudge.

Agree that Alex's words were deeply heartfelt. Prancing demon is an apt description of Beck's behavior during the primary. Leads one to seriously question T**’s acceptance and alliance with Beck. A man of deep faith would not have been a party to such vitriolic nonsense. A faith hustler would have embraced the con to keep fooling the rubes which he holds in contempt. And so he did and still does, not having repudiated nor rebuked Beck.

By their fruits you shall know them.

The prancing and whirling continue...

Holy smokes, THAT is a lot of ads blocked!

If I might ask, are you running Windows?

If so, you might consider an alternate approach to blocking ads that requires no 'ad blocker' extension or software at all?

http://winhelp2002.mvps.org/hosts.htm

Don't let the '2002' make you think the site is outdated, what Winhelp does is provide a hosts file that you substitute for your original host file (found under Windows/System32/Drivers/ETC, the file location may differ depending on what version of Windows you're using). After downloading the Winhelp host file (which is free), it blocks dozens of websites *automatically* because it is loaded into memory when you first boot up your system. (the page provides more detail)

I've been running a customized host file for more than 10 years, and the nice thing about it is that if you come across a popup ad, you can capture the URL for it, go into the host file with Notepad, and add that URL, and henceforth?

No more popup ads from *that* URL.

Hope this might help, I go to Breitbart all the time and see NO popups or ads whatsoever.

God can use imperfect men - or even total non-believers - to achieve His will.

First time I have ever listened to Alex Jones. Not bad at all, in fact, right on the money.

It's because he was an early supporter of the 9/11 Truth Movement. To be fair, Jones has since modified his stance a bit, now saying that rogue elements within the government abetted the atrocity, which I suspect is somewhat closer to truth of what actually occurred.

Glen Beck is a certified nut!

As for Alex Jones... I first went to infowars.com to hear what Jones had to say a while back. At first I laughed at it because it was so wild and different from eveything else I heard in the media and most of talk radio. However, over time his program grew on me. This is after I saw the media and talk radio following Jones lead and Matt Drudge on most of the news. Jone like Matt Drudge has been always way ahead of the so called mainstream media. If you want to hear breaking news before its in the so called mainstream media, then infowars is the lace.

Limbaugh, Beck, Savage, Matt Drudge and the rest of the media are all obvious listeners of Alex Jones infowars, but all will never give Jones credit with the exception of Matt Drudge and Michael Savage.

Those aren't all ads. Some of those things are images, some are scripts. Because of content delivery networks it's no longer easy to tell what's an ad and what's just a photo or script to run the menus.

The sheer number of things is, however, a sign of very bad resource hog design.
