Ted Cruz Backers Seek to Control Convention Platform
New York Times ^ | May 9, 2016 | Jonathan Martin

Posted on 05/09/2016 1:05:13 PM PDT by Innovative

Senator Ted Cruz’s supporters are mounting an effort to seize control of the Republican platform and the rules governing the party’s July convention, the first indication that Mr. Cruz will not simply hand his delegates over to Donald J. Trump.

In an email sent Sunday to pro-Cruz convention delegates, a top aide to the Texas senator wrote that it was “still possible to advance a conservative agenda at the convention.”

“To do that, it is imperative that we fill the Rules and Platform Committees with strong conservative voices like yours,” wrote Ken Cuccinelli, who was the campaign’s former delegate wrangler and a former attorney general of Virginia. “That means you need to come to the national convention and support others in coming, too!”

Mr. Cruz is planning a Monday evening conference call where, as Mr. Cuccinelli writes, Mr. Cruz’s former officials plan to “discuss what we can do at the convention to protect against liberal changes to our platform, and how we can right the wrongs in the rules from 2012!”

Hey Princess Crybaby.

Your guy lost.

He lost big.

He lost when the game was tilted in his favor too.

Now you can scream and cry and wet yourself in spite and impotent rage, or you can act like an adult.

I predict that you will not act like an adult.

Next up, Cruz will have the vote counting machines rigged so in November, even though he is no where on the ballot........

Surprise! CRUZ WINS!

See it was God after all!

Honestly, what is left for him to try to have power or make himself feel relevant?

Trump is wet where Abortion is concerned, Since 1976, the pro-life factions has at least been able to gain this concession from the Establishment. People forget that until the late ‘70s, the Democratic Party was the pro-life party. Carter’s Sec. of HHS was pro-life. The Kennedy threw off the mask and came out as pro-abortion.

Well, he is trying to keep the platform as it is. As trump just said, he is a Republican, not a conservative.

Cruz will attempt to add the platform more conservative, knowing that the Republicans have an electoral disadvantage in the hopes of lowering Trump’s chances of winning the general election.

Another poison pill from Ted. Make Ted look like a good conservative at the expense of the party losing the general.

If you ever wondered why so few colleagues like him in the Senate, now you see it.

but a few of us still care about conservatism.

Yep that platform that changes everything. Remember when they asked Bob Dole about the abortion plank and he responded heck no one ever reads that thing.

Every effort should be made to push/keep Trump to the right.

He is already to the right of everyone on the issues that matter.

well, lets start here:
http://www.theguardian.com/politics/2016/may/10/donald-trump-london-mayor-sadiq-khan-exception-muslim-ban

Trump says London mayor Sadiq Khan could be ‘exception’ to Muslim ban
Republican presidential candidate wants temporary ban on Muslims entering the US, but says he was ‘happy’ about Khan’s landslide win in the UK capital
Sadiq Khan: I don’t want exemption from ‘ignorant’ Trump’s Muslim ban

“There will always be exceptions,” the Times quoted the real estate billionaire and presumptive Republican nominee as saying when asked how his controversial proposal would apply to Sadiq Khan, the son of a Pakistani immigrant bus driver and a seamstress, who was sworn in as London’s mayor on Saturday.

Trump said he was pleased to see Khan elected, the Times reported. “I was happy to see that … I think it’s a very good thing, and I hope he does a very good job because frankly that would be very, very good.

“You lead by example, always lead by example. If he does a good job … that would be a terrific thing.”

I’ll help you:

Sioux Center, Iowa (CNN)Donald Trump boasted Saturday that support for his presidential campaign would not decline even if he shot someone in the middle of a crowded street.

“I could stand in the middle of 5th Avenue and shoot somebody and I wouldn’t lose voters,” Trump said at a campaign rally here.
After the event, Trump declined to answer when asked by CNN to clarify his comments.
The GOP front-runner has repeatedly pointed to the loyalty of his supporters, many of whom tell reporters and pollsters that almost nothing could make them change their mind about voting for Trump in the presidential race.

http://www.cnn.com/2016/01/23/politics/donald-trump-shoot-somebody-support/

And you’re worried over where he would shoot them, is it okay if I said he could shoot them in the groin instead? In stead of just saying he could shoot them, I mean?

Can I say he could shoot them in the liver? The Heart? The lungs?
Or do I need to just make it a generic location on the body to satisfy you?

You said Trump said he could shoot someone in the face, etc.

That was a lie.

Still upset that Trump won the “very conservative” vote in more states than Cruz?

Trump did sign it later and now we have punks like Bush, Graham, and Cruz refusing to. It appears no one knows which Republican’s word is any damn good.

We certainly know of three whose words are not reliable.

Not at all but I won’t pretend that Trump has ever been for ANYTHING for the conservative cause.

You don't have to pretend. You could do some unbiased reading and find out how Trump has been promoting certain conservative positions for many years now:
