In retrospect, it is astonishing that Gore lost in 2000. The country was in relatively good shape, and there wasn’t much in the way of clamoring for “change.” And everyone dismissed GWB as a frat boy and buffoon. And yet, despite traditional Democratic ballot box stuffing and fraud, Gore lost.
