Texas pastor who accused Whole Foods of gay slur on cake drops suit, apologizes (homo hoax alert)

The Texas pastor who sued Whole Foods in April for allegedly writing a gay slur on a cake he bought withdrew his lawsuit on Monday and apologized to the supermarket chain for perpetrating a hoax, KVUE reported.

"The company did nothing wrong," openly gay pastor Jordan Brown wrote in a Monday statement. "I was wrong to pursue this matter and use the media to perpetuate this story."

Brown said in April that he requested a cake from Whole Foods with the phrase “Love Wins” written on it, but when he received his cake there was a homophobic remark added. Brown made the accusation in an Internet video and launched a lawsuit shortly thereafter.

But alert viewers quickly pointed out that the icing style used to write “Love Wins” and the gay slur appeared to differ, and Whole Foods released surveillance video showing the cake being purchased with the UPC code in a different location than Brown's video, suggesting the cake had been opened and tampered with.

The retraction gets 1% of the publicity of the original lie.

And now, I hope Whole Foods sues him to the full extent of the law, for defamation or whatever other legal status can be found.

Questions:

1. What does it say about these liberal activists, that they keep pulling these hoaxes, to somehow demonstrate how bigoted, homophobic or whatever phobic that society allegly is???

2. What does it say about conservatives and the rest of us, that we are allegedly so bigoted, that we ARE NOT the ones perpetrating these events????

If anything, Whole Foods would hold a tickertape parade for a gay cake buyer. They “give back”, “tolerate”, “diversify” and “hope and change” 24/7. That’s what threw me off.

This guy needs to be prosecuted and punished for his crime.

Anything else is a travesty of justice.

Some “pastor” who breaks all kinds of commandments in just one act!

Nevermind defamation. He won’t even be slapped on the wrist.

This act absolutely should not go without punishment. Absolutely freaking not. This is bearing false witness and is little different from an act of extortion. This cannot be let go as a freebie. Sorry, pastor. Lowish six figures and WF can donate the money to a charity NOT of the pastor’s choice.

"I was wrong to pursue this matter and use the media to perpetuate this story."

What matter? There was no matter. Non-apology.

So they let him walk, nice job by no doubt leftist DA’s working the Austin district. Maybe the State AG needs to have a look at the case for consistency.

I'm not sure I understand the question. What part of "openly gay" do you not understand?

The full statement from Whole Foods is below:

"We're very pleased that the truth has come to light. Given Mr. Brown's apology and public admission that his story was a complete fabrication, we see no reason to move forward with our counter suit to defend the integrity of our brand and team members."

Thou Shall Not Bear False Witness.

This “pastor” has quite a penchant for sinning.

Whole Foods absolutely should sue this miserable person into the ground.

He needs to be sued. This will not turn off customers. In fact, it will make customers more loyal. It may cause a few candya$$ lollipop customers to get mad, but who cares?

Yes. They are desperate for attention. When they asked to leave them in the privacy of their own bedrooms, we said, "OK," but that wasn't enough.

They know, deep down, that their behavior is unnatural and wrong, so they have to create the false scapegoat of "hate" to explain why they still aren't happy. They force confrontation because they can't handle the fact that the rest of us don't really care.
