Teary-eyed Cruz: This movement doesn’t go away in one election
The Hill ^ | 05/16/2016 | Caitlin Yilek

A teary-eyed Ted Cruz is hinting that he’s leaving the door open for another White House bid in a newly released video titled "No regrets."

The 5-minute video opens with a campaign staffer asking if the Cruz camp made it “through this without regrets.” “This is nearly a regret-free campaign,” he says. “Ted Cruz didn’t lose. Our campaign for president lost.”

Why should she, after he came out and said, “We’d have won if I’d picked Rubio.” What an absolute putz. Picking a veep at all at that stage was deranged.

Hopefully Trump keeps him off the stage. We really don’t need Cruz making the convention all about him— which is what he’d do.

I'm not anti-Cruz but he has got to make sure his behavior doesn't = working for Hillary.

He lost.

He's got to put everything in his power into defeating Hillary (or whatever spawn of Satan becomes the nominee).

He is digging his own grave.

He should endorse Trump, do something significant in the Senate, he may be OK, come out ahead.

But everything he has been doing lately only shows that he us nothing more than an opportunist, who doesn’t care about anything or anyone, only himself.

Conservatism is not dead, but the pulbic face of any movement had to have leadership qualities, and in America in 2016 - 2020, that’s being likeable on TV and in person.

It was true back in 1980, 1960, 1952 and 1948 too.

Giving to charity is something you can’t fake. You either do it, or you don’t. Cruz is the type of guy who thinks that his mere existence is such a gift to the world that there is no reason for him to give money to the poor.

I disagree. He was overtaken by a business man who was not afraid to go on all the talk shows and do interviews in the face of the enemy. Cruz could have done that be he chose to go a different route. Only in the last couple of weeks did Cruz start to appear on the Sunday talk shows. It was to little to late.

***

Cruz once again proved the old adage, “You can’t beat something with nothing.” Trump was the something. Cruz was the nothing. Ever since Iowa, the only thing that Cruz defined himself as was ‘not Trump.’ In every one of his speeches, he could have just put up an empty suit and a sign that said, “I’m not Trump” and nothing more.

And as it turns out, people preferred the something rather than the nothing.

I am *so* waiting for Cruz to rub his face in Cheetos on national TV during the convention.

Yes, I said Cruz...

Tsk, tsk, tsk...nOObs /s

LOL

Funny, we were all for this guy until Trump showed up and then all of a sudden he became a pariah.

What change? Rhetorical.

Was Reagan perfect? The 1st time?

I wasn’t for him, years back, as I didn’t consider him NBC but, was convinced by numerous posters, JR and Jack Wheeler he was the guy we wanted.

Oh well.

Things change.

Post on friends and I’m pulling the lever for The Donald.

It’s hard to miss Ted if he won’t go away. This latest teary, bleary, lachrymose, maudlin homage to himself prolly isn’t the last we’ve heard of him.

He’ll be back tomorrow with another carefully shot and scripted tribute to Ted Cruz: conservative legend in his own mind, suggesting that we really hurt his feelings, cand if we’re absolutely, positively not sure, he’s there for us.

Well, at least he’s leaving with his ... dignity.

>If Trump were to lose, Cruz might have a chance in four years

Not after crap like this. He's acting about as presidential as a drunk dwarf on a bender.

Is this Democratic Underground? I thought this site promotes Conservitism. To hate on a good man who has fought for us shows otherwise. You all have fallen off the cliff.

And when he finally showed up he creeped everyone out. His appearances with Fiorina were disasters.

Cruz will be lucky to win re-election in Texas as a Senator.

But Cruz did manage to accomplish something that Liberals tried to do for years and couldn’t: End the radio careers of Limbaugh, Levin, Beck, and others.
