not with their throats slit.
I’d guess that’s a windshield heat sensor for anti icing.
KC-135: History of Destroyed Aircraft: https://airrefuelingarchive.wordpress.com/2009/06/04/kc-135-history-of-destroyed-aircraft/
There is a history of 707-type aircraft loss due to wire chaffing, electrical arching and such.
USAF version of the B-707 is the KC-135.
22-Jun-59 57-1446 A Walker AFB Main fuel tank explosion on ramp (maintenance)
3-Jun-71 58-0039 Q Torrejon AFB Crashed following in-flight explosion of the nr. 1 main fuel tank. Chafing of boost pump wires in conduits was determined to be as a possible ignition source.
13-FEB-87 60-0330 A Altus AFB Landed on the runway at altus afb on fire, cause was an arc in the fuel vapor area due to a compromised coax from the HF radio, aircraft subsequently burned to the ground in the infield after it rolled off the runway
4-Oct-89 56-3592 A Loring AFB In-flight explosion (aft body tank) during approach
I think that’s the bottom line here. It all happened too fast for it NOT to be a bomb. You would get early warnings for a purely mechanical malfunction and things would play out a bit slower.
Or someone’s iPad or iPhone or other personal electronic device using said battery-type.
Rapid decompression at altitude the TUC would be measured in seconds, and if explosion the confusion and chaos might have prevented passengers and crew from donning functional O-2 masks.
From the NBC report: “An “FCU” refers to a unit in cockpit the pilot uses to input instructions into the flight computer. “SEC3” refers to the computer that controls the spoilers and elevator computers of the plane. The fault messages indicate there could have been problems with the plane’s controls and computers, critical to controlling the aircraft.”
>> I bet they have a good idea but arent saying. <<
Agreed.
They are speculating that the dive, 360 degree turn and plung was probably large sections of the aircraft that could be seen by radar. That would make sense, especially if there was an explosion. I would concur about explosive decompression.
The plane was sent going to Egypt filled with a bunch of people from the region. Even if the plan was transporting a bunch of highly unstable explosives in a bumpy wind-storm, my bet would still be on terrorism.
They blew the tail section off.
Like in Lost.
Actually, my thoughts as well but I don’t trust those battery packs either.
TerrorISLAM its just what they do.
When will the world wake up to the undeniable facts that seem to be reinforced with more evidence almost every day now.
It would seem to me there was a fight in the cockpit for that plane to go down the way it did.
Wow, it’s(#TerrorISLAM) a hashtag already.
I vote to change the vernacular since no one else does it anymore.
Although it would be highly unusual to target a planeload of 55 or so mostly Muslims unless there were an additional cause or motivation involved.
They MUST make TRUMP out to be a LIAR!
Why wouldn’t there be a prtable radio in the cockpit?
I flew a Cherokee 180 with 2 radis in the stack and also another hand held just in cass of a power loss.
Never a good idea to fly with Muslim pilots OR Muslim passengers OR Muslin cabin attendants OR from a Muslim country OR to a Muslim country.
Doing all at once may result in an unscheduled water landing.
