In denying his application for a concealed-carry permit, Oceanport Police Chief Daniel W. Barcus said Russell was unable to demonstrate “justifiable need” because there had been no specific attacks or threats made directly on him.
To legally carry concealed firearms in New Jersey, residents have to apply to their local police for a permit demonstrating such a need. But critics of the state’s strict gun laws say this results in very few people other than acting and retired law enforcement officials getting approval for such permits.

New Jersey. Still the shithole of the East Coast. So are many of their judges and prosecutors. Where the hell is Christie?
Raid every donut shop until you find him and tell him to get off his ass and work on changing the law pronto, but also see if he can give the Colonel as state permit that can’t be revoked by some half-assed local yokel.
Also, work to get the judge bounced out of off, and same for the prosecutor.
We need brave, sane people in office today, not dumbassed liberals and cowards, regardless of party affiliation.

Any law that restricts that right is unconstitutional on its face.
And here in Alaska I can go to any gun store and walk out 10 minutes later with any pistol of my choosing, concealed upon my person, without any sort of permission needed from the state to buy it or to conceal it. It has to suck really bad living in NJ, yet millions continue to do so. I’ll never understand why.
A few months ago he was out there bragging about how pro Second Amendment he was.

I had a retired fire chief from NJ come into the AMOCO station I worked at in Virginia and proceed to lecture me at length on why it was ridiculous for people to be allowed to pump their own gas.
At such point where he paused to reload some wind I interjected “You know why y’all don’t pump your own gas in New Jersey? ‘Cause you’re to stupid to pump your own gas...”
I thought he was going to have a stroke in the damn parking lot.
Wow. In Arizona, they stop you at the border and ask if you are carrying a concealed weapon. If you answer, “No,” they assign one to you.
Good for you.
I get to experience that in June when we head up for the Orgeon state Field Target championship. It’s the only other state where you can’t pump your own gas. I always fill up near border and the have enough to go in and out. I’m obsessive about topping off :-)
