When Australia's most successful Olympian, Ian Thorpe, came out as gay in an interview with Sir Michael Parkinson in July 2014, he was inundated with messages of support.
At the time, some posed the question: does this even count as news? Is homosexuality today not a simple biographical detail rather than a sensational scandal?
And yet, it is significant that on the same night that Thorpe came out, Australian Rules Football commentator Brian Taylor used a homophobic slur on air, referring to Geelong player Harry Taylor as a "big poofter."
The two events accentuated perfectly why it remains the case, especially in the ultra-masculine world of sports, that a young gay athlete may feel scared to come out to themselves and their family, much less the fickle media and ambivalent public.
A culture of homophobia still permeates many sections of society. A Western Sydney University study has suggested that the Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transsexual Intersex and Queer (LGBTIQ) community face higher rates of suicide and self-harm than the hetero-normative mainstream. The Growing up Queer study found that 16% of young people who identify as LGBTIQ have attempted suicide and 33% have self-harmed.

These people who presume that because we say that homosexuality is a sin that we are afraid of their sin have dumbed down the word “phobia” to the point that it has lost all meaning.

The west is the most accepting place to come out as anything as we’ve found out in the last two weeks when it comes to transgenders and their fascination with bathrooms - particularly ladies rooms. Maybe the world should rid itself of woman hatred - mass rapes in the east, homosexual hatred towards women in the west.

They would have you believe that this is because of homophobia. Certainly that is a reasonable hypothesis to test. But another hypothesis is that the same brain defects that cause them to be homosexual also cause other mental imbalances. This, of course, would never be considered by today’s politically correct social “scientists”.
How do they respond to “love the sinner, hate the sin”? Me - I just loathe them. Period.

I don’t try to turn my sins into sacraments. That is the major difference between homosexual activists and homosexual Christians. (Not all homosexuals are activists who push the “gay agenda”.)

Now that he's done trying to change much more than a jot or tittle of the Bible, he needs to get to work on the Koran so that Muslims will stop beheading people, burning them alive, throwing sodomites off tall buildings, stoning raped women, etc. But he won't, because Muslims would actually do him bodily harm for calling them out (”don't call Islam a violent religion, or we'll cut your head off!”).
Muslims must be enjoying seeing these people show themselves for the cowards they are. Muslims can see that they're abject cowards, because Muslims know that the whole time these people are going after Christians, who do not go around killing “infidels”, and have no Biblical standing for doing so, their doing so throws into stark relief their silence on the violence of Islam, condoned in the Koran. They run around pretending to fear a Christian theocracy, while Islam couldn't be any more explicit about its intention to enact a global caliphate and sharia law, and even “moderate” Muslims don't demur when the “radical” (ie devout) Muslims state this intention.
This was their agenda all along-they never just wanted “government out of our bedrooms”-they were never going to be finished with their agenda until they could inject themselves into Biblical Christian churches, and try to dictate what Christians can teach-what they can believe (thought crime!). They won’t be done until they eradicate Biblical Christianity, but they know not what they do-that brick wall they’re trying to build around the remnant of true Biblical Christianity is going to fall right on top of their heads during the 7 year Tribulation. All the Christians will be gone, just as they desire, but they won’t like it one bit, though they’ll never admit the connection between the horrors of the Tribulation and the absence of Christians.
I notice, too, that it’s always Christianity they target-never any other religion, including especially the one which makes no secret of its desire for world domination, which has no shame in using the most horrific violence to achieve its goal.
There were a few people, way back in the Seventies, who were so prescient as to see that getting government out of their bedrooms was never the one and only goal of the sodomite agenda. Lester Roloff comes to mind-he preached a sermon (which can be found online) called “The End Time Sin Of Homosexuality” in which he pointed out that God calls homosexuality an abomination-a designation which is not given to every sin-because the full societal acceptance of it is indicative of a nation in rebellion-

The sin of pedophilia would have made a more apt comparison, if it wasn't for the fact that there are indeed groups which are trying to force societal acceptance of pedophilia and pedophiles. I'm no spring chicken, but I may yet live to see the day when groups such as NAMBLA see their agenda furthered, and then excoriate Christians as “haters” for opposing it because, after all, society has given it the stamp of approval, and those who oppose it, especially Christians, will be characterised as “haters”.
On this issue, they won't even have to care about the hypocrisy which they currently ignore regarding homosexuality and their silence about the way Islam deals with this sin. Islam doesn't have a problem with pedophilia, in and of itself, as long as other sins aren't involved.
