Welcome to the Election From Hell
Time ^ | 5/26/16 | Frank Luntz

Voters demand that politicians speak as angrily and as disrespectfully as the voters feel.

As a professional focus group moderator, I’m about to make an admission that could cost me clients and even a career: I’ve lost control.

Northeastern moms are mad. California Tree Huggers are ticked off. Born Again Iowans are irate. I’ve led three dozen focus groups in more than a dozen states this year, and trying to moderate and mediate a sensible discussion about politics has become like feeding time at the crocodile enclosure. The moment a contentious topic is introduced, a cacophony of voices spew forward in rapid crescendo, each one louder and more breathless than the last. Within minutes, everyone is yelling, no one is listening and nothing is resolved. The public may despise most members of Congress, but we’ve sure gotten good at emulating them.

Me too.
It’s bringing out the RINOs from the woodwork; men and women who’ve become fat and wealthy doing nothing....

trying to moderate and mediate a sensible discussion about politics

The Democrat Party destroyed that when they decided to go Full Alinsky in the early 70's.

Ah yes. The “Election from Hell.” Or, in other words, the election where Republicans finally grow a pair and use the same bare knuckle tactics to win that the Dems use over and over and over and over. Dunce Luntz wants a more “traditional” election where the Republican self-edits and doesn’t talk about anything that the mainstream media doesn’t want him to talk about while the Dem candidate and his minions in the press throw mud all over the Republican. I’m so sick of this.

This guy continues to make death threats on Trump, and nothing is done. Why, you ask? Black privilege.

Right! Who cares what he or any one of them wants? HE says now people don’t even care if they offend, who the hell cares whether he’s offended or not? He’s a REPORTER (I know, not quite), let him report and then shut up.

“As a professional focus group moderator..”

Does he realize just how stupid that makes him sound? That’s like saying “professional community organizer.”

He preselects only those who push his agenda. His prompting and leading is sickening.

The last 10 years or so I am in the income prime of my life and I am being taxed to death. Every time I think I am getting ahead I get slammed with confiscatory tax rates! At this rate I am going to have to live on SS.

By whose definition?
That is why I suggested dissolution.

Trump voters are matched by Sanders supporters—who together form a majority of all Americans—in believing there is no real difference between the two parties, that both are gripped by professional politicos and special interests that are choking off the foundations of democracy.

The establishment get it all right, they just don't want to believe it.

Now, a "professional focus group moderator" is a fellow trained to drill down into the specifics - why are you angry? What is it you're angry about? Let me list a few:

1. A government so corrupt that mere membership guarantees a lifetime of plenitude, whether one is elected into it or merely named into it;

2. A government that is unaccountable for its decisions;

3. A government that has moved systematically from representation to leadership to ruling to dictatorship;

4. A government that has arrogated to itself the role of social reform and regards the military and the people it supposedly represents as clay to be molded into a better progressive vision;

5. A government that uses its own usurped power to oppress and criminalize dissent;

6. A government whose official position is that the majority of its citizens are stupid, racist, too Christian, too ecologically irresponsible, too unenlightened, and too stupid to understand that they need a firm ruling hand over them - guess whose?

7. A government that is venal, acquisitive, wasteful, contemptuous, and absolutely unapologetic.

That's a short and very incomplete list. Any marginally competent "professional focus group moderator" could enumerate it in a half hour from even a hostile and uncooperative group. If the author hasn't, he hasn't tried.

I for one am not going to throw the towel in. I gave 4 years of my life for this country, others gave a lot more, many gave the full measure. I swore to give my life if necessary. Nobody has released me from that oath. I may be 73, but I’m not too old to fight. I will do whatever I can to elect Trump president. Dissolution is NOT an option!!

The voters have enough. The professional political handlers, the media, and the political class have reason to be worried. People are fed up. The question is will America swerve to the Left or to the Right. That’s hard to say, but the rule by elitist corrupt politicians is over and they are quickly becoming an endangered species. About time.

There is nothing in the Constitution that makes it permanent.
Furthermore, there are large groups of people who no longer share common ground with one another. None. Zero. Zilch. Nada.
Isn’t it better to split up than for one side to impose its beliefs upon the other(s) with superior firepower?
To allow multiple experiment with various systems?
To allow folks to vote for or against one system or another?
