Washington (CNN)Vice President Joe Biden said Thursday he is "filled with furious anger" over a case that has attracted widespread attention after a judge handed down a six-month sentence to the attacker.
"I am filled with furious anger — both that this happened to you and that our culture is still so broken that you were ever put in the position of defending your own worth," he wrote in a letter published on Buzzfeed.\
"It must have been wrenching — to relive what he did to you all over again," Biden added. "But you did it anyway, in the hope that your strength might prevent this crime from happening to someone else. Your bravery is breathtaking."
Outrage has erupted over a California judge's decision to give Brock Turner, a former Stanford University swimmer, a six-month jail sentence for sexually assaulting an unconscious woman in January 2015. Prosecutors had asked that Turner be sentenced to six years in prison, and critics are blasting the decision as too lenient.

I’ve actually looked to see if Hillary has any comment on this case, but not been able to find anything. Has anyone seen that she’s commented on this?
I mean, it would seem to be a tailor-made opportunity for her to comment, and that’s especially so since high-profile Democrats usually wade into the controversies almost immediately nowadays.
I was actually thinking that too, but came to think while I was reading it (I read through it all) that it seemed ghost-written.
Two times the legal limit does not cause unconsciousness.
If she had the presence of mind to keep her clothes on, did she become embarrassed when she was spotted by the two guys? She did call her boyfriend twice that night - just sayin.
Her BAC appears to be .16 which would not explain her being unconscious. Was she ok with the heavy petting until she was discovered by the two guys?
There are lots of people that are caught driving at .24 so various people have different levels of tolerance.
My concern is that she had the presence of mind to keep her clothes on. Was she ok with the heavy petting until the two were caught? And she was cheating on her boyfriend? Who she called twice that day?
It seems that has to be the case.
And the reason why, that they know from polling that much of the public dislikes them getting involved in high-profile cases, which, Constitutionally, it seems they shouldn’t be doing, and they fear giving any ammunition to Republicans. So they’re backing off a bit from being so in-your-face about it.
The news story I read had her BAC at .245-.249 at around 4:00 am, several hours after she could have had her last drink.
Hillary would be the last to want to wade into thorny questions about sexual abuse/punishment/consent issues. It would actually be funny to see her give it a shot.

I think the letter, which has received so much publicity because of its graphic descriptions, was written by her to inflict more punishment on her rapist. I would have done the same thing.
Yep. The “drug behind dumpster” is in the court record and even the rapist didn’t really dispute that part. That’s where the witnesses found him on top of the clearly unconscious woman.
She probably didn’t see what the big deal was.

BAC usually peaks about 45 minutes after the last drink and then goes down. So if the last drink was 3 hours prior, that means she peaked about 2 hours prior. Most people metabolize at the rate of .03 per hour so that means she was at .30. If she was drinking since 9 and peaked at 2, that is about 10 drinks plus what was metabolized by 2:00 or about 5 drinks for a total of 15 drinks. She admitted to 4 shots at home so that means 11 more at the party - say about 3 shots per hour.
She didn’t scream rape when the two guys walked in on the scene so there is no “ok with it until it was discovered”. She was unconscious. The witnesses saw that she was not conscious, they rightly noted that an unconscious person can’t consent, they yelled stop at the man grinding his genitals into an unconscious victim, and he tried to run like the dirty little rapist he was. There was no changing of minds about heavy petting because unconscious people are notoriously single-minded about not being cognizant of their surroundings.
As far as 0.16 not being consistent with passing out all I can say is that the witnesses on the scene reported her as clearly unconscious. I’ll settle for eyewitnesses over Internet blood tox guesses. Especially since I’ve seen a lot of young girls “I’m not passing out Becky! I just, like, need to sleep in this door stoop for an hour or two. srs.” at festivals here.
Yes, and she probably is thinking about how Donald Trump would respond if she did wade into this controversy with a statement. It makes sense to think she’ll get asked about it at some point, though.
I’ve seen several news reports that say her intoxication level was more than three times the legal limit for driving, while it was his that was twice.

I believe it was done at the hospital, so it would be a blood test, I assume.
