At precisely 7 a.m. Sunday Dan Patrick tweeted a photo with the words of Galatians 6:7. The verse reads, "Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows."
The Twitterverse circled the tweet, commenting that it was inappropriate and insensitive considering the context of the day's events. The Texas Democratic Party called for Patrick to apologize.
Allen Blakemore with Patrick's office told the Dallas Morning News that the tweet was prescheduled and not a reaction to the shooting, noting, "This was certainly not done with any fore knowledge of the events of the day."
Another verse was tweeted from the account 30 minutes later, this time from Psalm 37:39, which reads, "The Salvation of the righteous come from the Lord; He is their stronghold in time of trouble."

“are considered” .. why this tortured reference?
Why not invoke specific actors?
If Lt. Governor Patrick normally tweets a Biblical verse at that time on Sunday mornings then there is no reason to believe it was an unfortunate choice selected long before the Florida shooting.
The same could be said of any bar anywhere.
They just spin it as a gun control issue. Islam won’t be mentioned.

Inspirational quotes would arguably be a better choice in that context.
Why the reference to “are considered” without a subject of the verb “are” ? “The light was switched on” is another example of uninformative passive voice. Who did it? Why? Under what circumstances? It carries evasiveness with it.
Or rather, WHO considers.
People forget that often straight women go to gay bars to dance. A lot have gay friends. I’m very upset about this act of war; today it’s gays, tomorrow it’s us. I think we should pray for the dead.

Please don’t take it the wrong way, but are you expecting me to cite sources, studies, academic papers? All my posts are my opinions/observations. I have no time/interest/obligation to provide sources to my observations, although I could try if that is something that helps facilitate our discussion. The thing is I do not know where this discussion is headed.
I’d have a big moral problem, though, with reducing them to an “oh that’s cute, let’s pay them a visit to get entertained” status.
Yes, I understand that this is the cosmopolitan way.

Does Jesus take “TRUTH” seriously? Since he IS truth, I would think so.
So the scripture of course is true and it does apply to those who mock God and sin against Him as in the ABOMINATION of homosexuality and murder.
It’s not about what happened to them in this world, as in “they had it coming” or “it serves them right”, but what will happen to them in the NEXT world, and for all eternity.
They brought God’s judgement on themselves not knowing that this would be the day that it was too late to repent or they just didn’t care or believe.......Now they do!
Well you say something “[is] considered” but you never say anything about the considerers?
Not even a VAGUE reference to this panel of authority, as to its character and nature? Nobody needs scholarly references to begin to address that.

As always, on a tragic day like this, you are bizarre. Please don’t post to me.
But so do supposed gospel aficionados bring such consequences upon themselves, by making it sound like it is all about themselves when the topic becomes hot.
