Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick deletes "reap what you sow" tweet after mass shooting at LGBT club

At precisely 7 a.m. Sunday Dan Patrick tweeted a photo with the words of Galatians 6:7. The verse reads, "Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows."

The Twitterverse circled the tweet, commenting that it was inappropriate and insensitive considering the context of the day's events. The Texas Democratic Party called for Patrick to apologize.

Allen Blakemore with Patrick's office told the Dallas Morning News that the tweet was prescheduled and not a reaction to the shooting, noting, "This was certainly not done with any fore knowledge of the events of the day."

Another verse was tweeted from the account 30 minutes later, this time from Psalm 37:39, which reads, "The Salvation of the righteous come from the Lord; He is their stronghold in time of trouble."

Islam has really put an evil spin on the Abrahamic God with the Koran.

Oh, for sure.

Given the “compression of time” and the sheer volume of events available for correlation to randomly selected quotes from something like the Bible having some auto-bot offer up random quotes will inevitably correlate something politically unpalatable for the armchair offended crowd to ruminate on like a chipped tooth.

At the very least it’s going to look like one is just “mailing it in” and doesn’t take the subject seriously but wants to pander the the Christian demographic.

Checking his twitter, He does have automatic tweets on Sundays at 8am. I didnt know you could do that. So, its just unfortunate on this day.

I suspected as much.

Luke 13:

1 There were present at that season some that told him of the Galilaeans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices.

2 And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose ye that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, because they suffered such things?

3 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

4 Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem?

5 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

The tweet:

From:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3637672/A-man-reaps-sows-Texas-governor-sparks-outrage-anti-LGBT-tweet-just-hours-Orlando-gay-club-massacre.html

Seeing that it was an image, more likely than not it wasn't just a Bible passage chosen this morning. Democrats would say it should never be posted, particularly by a Lieutenant Governor. The outcry over it is in large part an attempt to score points against Christianity, and deflect attention from Islam.

But why would anyone think it had anything at all to do with what happened in Florida?

The thought that Patrick posted it in response to the attack.

Even if Patrick can show beyond any doubt that it was a pre-arranged tweet, the media won’t fact check and correct the record. They will go on suggesting it was posted in response to the attack regardless of what the truth is.

Amen, yesterday was the lesson, today is the gift of GRACE, tomorrow has no guarantee.

On a side observation, if this quote was tweeted last week, would the ones who are so vocal today, paid any attention to the message?

Understood, But what I can not figure out why anyone would think that. They’d have to be making a whole lot of assumptions.

this guy had background checks and had two state issued licenses and I suspect he passed even though he was investigated got terrorism ties because of the PC sensitivities, you know, can’t discriminate against muslimes even if they are a threat. . .anyway, this “representative” was a ranting fool.

As has been pointed out, you can be on the TSA no-fly list, but your Second Amendment rights can't be abridged. The guy had been convicted of no crime.

At least it was a ‘gun free zone’. Think what might have happened if some armed citizens had been present. Much better to call 911 and wait. /liberal.

The alleged shooting clearly did not or could not read the “No Guns Allowed” sign. Time to pour more money into education so that our kids can read properly! And let’s work towards fixing Climate Change, which is causing terrorism.

Because it could seem to be like a response to the massacre, and the Democrats seizing on it don’t care about what the truth is, but scoring political points. This interpretation will be unquestionable gospel on the hard-core left going forward. I wouldn’t be surprised if Salon and Huffington Post don’t both have articles on it by tomorrow, but either way, any Democrat you meet online will take this accusation as an article of faith, no matter what hard evidence might support Patrick.

I doubt the sign was printed in Arabic. If it was just in English and Spanish, it appears that we’ve identified the cause.

Perhaps his prescheduled twitter post is prophetic, not unfortunate. God’s Word does not return void.

“The guy had been convicted of no crime.”

Being a muslime is crime enough for me.

Well, until that constitutional amendment limiting the religion clause of the First Amendment is ratified, you can't use someone's religion to abrogate their Second Amendment right.

Tell (or SELL) that to New Jersey, NYC, DC, Chicago, and a bunch of other places with unconstitutional gun laws!
