I doubt I would ever make anything above a D if I had to learn that crap.
Oh, it’s simple...
A-b=c
A-c+b=d
and if you add in white privilege it comes to F.

My high school algebra teacher was my track coach.
(Those who can’t teach, teach gym.) LOL. Yah, had to take remedial algebra my freshman year of college :o)

Consider the intervals: A = (-∞, 12] and B = (-∞, 32] both intervals are ∈ ℬ and thus Lebesgue measurable.
The characteristic function χA vanishes identically on (12, +∞) while the characteristic function χB has support only (-∞, 32]. Both functions are measurable, so their difference χB - χA is measurable.
Thus: ∫ χB - χA = ∫ χB - ∫ χA = 20.
Hope this helps more clearly illustrate the concepts of basic subtraction for small children.

When I was younger and still had some usable Brain Cells, I was able to figure out most Math problems in my head. Can’t describe it, I just looked at the Problem and “bingo”.
Because of that, I always got the “show your work” comment from the Teacher. The correct answer wasn’t the issue, it’s how you arrived at the solution.
Now that I’m a old guy with ten years worth of Chemotherapy under my belt, I am running neck and neck with Barbara Boxer on the intelligence meter. #;^)

Then they are destinated for failure. Educators can’t see the forest for the trees and the problem with the education system is the parents. Two strikes against any child who has a bad home life.

Im old school too, but I have enough background in higher math to see what theyre trying to do, and its a sound approach that will put the average kid on par with our best math students.
That's reasonable. Perhaps the benefits of teaching "mathematics" via this new line of understanding/comprehension will bring about a much-improved and independently-thinking citizenry, superior to the slide-rule users, in the next generation or two (or three). Or perhaps...not.
(Neither you nor I know how this will turn out. You are much more optimistic than am I.)

And are not really certain where they live permanently or whether their granny is their mother or if granny's live-in boyfriend this month is their daddy or the daddy of any of their quarter-siblings, whoever they are in fact.

My little buddy was taught the Chinese method of Math everyday after school by her Shanghai-born Mom/ She excelled in math and skipped two grades. Started college at 16, Chemistry and Bio-Mechanical Engineering. I could never figure out what she was learning because she and her Mom did it all in Mandarin!

Over the last few years, more and more often, applicants tell us “what the ‘School’ felt I should do”.
At first we laughed about it, but not any longer, Now, we take the time to train.
You would not believe how many cannot sign and application.

They both could use the abacus, at lightening speed, but the lessons were about math, not really relying at all on the abacus. The Chinese have a different approah.

I didn’t know that! Interesting. I never hung around during Yi’s lessons though, as they were conducted in Mandarin. The only Mandarin I know is how to order Tripe at Dim Sum!
