Seems to me that this helps Trump’s image as an outsider, which could attract some of that 10% independent vote.

Here’s an idea. How about letting everyday, normal Americans speak and tell their stories? Soldiers, veterans, policemen, housewives, single moms, etc. Listening to a bunch of thieving politicians pass gas has gotten pretty old anyway. Kind of like watching the monkeys in the “monkey house” at the zoo.
I’ll speak. So will millions and millions of others.
