In my long career, I have visited hundreds of installations, bases, posts and what not. Many many before 9/11 and an large amount afterwards.
Precautions at the gates and processing are comprehensive and the cars that do go through the line are often inspected thoroughly. The ONE thing I cannot recall having seen or undergone is a weapons screening upon entering the visitors’ pass center where everybody not normally stationed there has to go.
I have come to the conclusion they don’t do this is because every Tom, Dick and Harry lowlife can go to the pass office and say the want to go to Personnel and apply for a job and it’s carte blanche after that.
IMO it is the one big ass gaping hole in our collective security system.

I hope it’s nothing to worry about. I hate to hear when American bases are attacked. Hopefully everyone is safe - I just can’t find any humour in these situations.

“Did you see the shooter change ammunition clips?”

“There you have it folks. An active shooter using a weapon remarkably similar to the popular AR-15 assault weapon preferred by homegrown terrorists and NRA members, using high capacity clips to murder innocent civilians.”

You know this nation is doomed when the instructions given to military personnel on a military base in an event like this are the exact same instructions that are given to a day care facility or kindergarten class.

I don’t understand all I know about these politically correct terms. Can you tell me the difference between a active shooter and an inactive shooter?
Is that a “real world” subject or a drill subject?
