Saying he was "sick and tired" of the violence plaguing the city, Chicago's top cop announced Friday that thousands more law enforcement officers would hit the streets, lakefront and major tourist attractions, including Navy Pier, this Fourth of July weekend. Within the past 24 hours, three people had died and 21 more were wounded in violence across the city: this on the eve of the July Fourth weekend, typically one of the most violent holiday weekends of the year.

The long term solution to street violence is to restore faith in the Rule of Law, which isn’t going to happen as long as the Chicago PD maintains a black site for torturing people (Homan Square).
De-escalation of violence starts with the government, which is where the violence escalated in the first place. Bring the tools and techniques of war into a civilian area and one should not be surprised to end up with a genuine war zone.

We seem to have arrived at out current point of “no crime, no consequence” because there are few consequences leading up to actual criminal acts.
Solution-wise....you would think at some point...the family unit would come together and say it’s time to pack up and leave Chicago, and over a three-month period....you’d see 25,000 people leave the city. It’d jump-start the whole idea and within a year....maybe a hundred-thousand would just leave. Why stay and be shot? It’s a logical question and only one logical answer. Detroit-ize the city of Chicago.

The solution is this: back to the traditional family unit with a strong male presence, and back to Church at least once a week.
Anything else will prove to be of only temporary help.
That was my first thought, too.
The only way Chicago is going to reduce violent crime is to spin the South Side off as its own city. Problem solved.
Short of that, you need a revamp of education and the social safety net. But that’s not gonna happen with the liberal Pols in charge. So they’ll just continue to blame guns.
Want to fix the problem? Take those four neighborhoods, wall them off, don't let anyone in or out and let the animals all purge each other.
Wait two weeks, then send in the national guard. Arrest any survivors, charge them with murder and be done with it.
Level the neighborhoods and start over.
i’ll predict 83 shooting deaths and 127 wounded over the three day weekend. Of the 127, 9 will be kids under 14
