A Proposed free mobility labour zone between Australia, New Zealand, the UK and Canada has strong support, according to a poll.
A survey commissioned by the Royal Commonwealth Society in London found that 70 per cent of Australians, 82 per cent of Kiwis, 58 per cent of Brits and 75 per cent of Canadians are in support of reciprocal open borders between [these UK] nations when it comes to living and working in them.
If the UK exits the EU, it would no longer be bound by the EU’s free labour movement laws.

Of course, those countries have substantial populations from former colonies. If they were born/raised in any of those countries, given collapse of the British Empire in the late 70s, chances are that by now they’ve become more Brit than not.
Of course. The current state of affairs, where Canada is a dominion of the British Monarch, and yet Canadians are considered aliens in the UK compared to, say, Slovenians, is completely retarded. Canada, the UK, Australia and NZ should establish their own version of Schengen.

Excellent! I also wish the US could join such a confederation, though I recognize the difficulty in that the other countries still recognize the Queen as their head of state.
In 2011, Australia had a muslim population of 476,291 people or 2.2% of the population and it’s the fastest growing religion in Australia. (multiple source found by Google.)
Commonwealth citizens do enjoy certain privileges over Europeans though. For example, a Canadian with leave to remain in the UK is able to vote in general elections and the recent ref, an EU citizens (except the Irish, Maltese or Cypriots) were not.
The U.K has around 1,750,000 Muslims which account for 2.8% of the population.
The U.S. has around 2,900,000 Muslims which account for 0.9% of the population.
There is very little likelihood that either country will see a significant shifting of Muslim populations at those levels.
Now if you look at a nation like France, which has 2,660,000 Muslims or 4% of the population, then you might see some noticeable movement.
But the idea that Britain would be a magnet for Muslims in America? No.
Without a special visa Canadian can only stay in the UK for six months. A Slovenian can stay as long as he likes.

Travel between New Zealand and Aussie has always been visa free for those folks...

and in 1971 when I first came to the US I didn’t need a visa to go to Canada or England, as a New Zealander...
I know, but Commonwealth citizens have a special status within Britain that gives them certain privileges not enjoyed by other foreigners. Now that we are leaving the EU, we might now be able to remove many of the handicaps suffered by the CAUNZers.
A brilliant move. There has been talk about putting together an Anglosphere alliance, given their cultural and language commonalities.
I’d be open to the US and India being some sort of “best pal” allies to this alliance as well. Enough of this “Little England” stuff.
Oh, wouldn’t that be tits. The UK being able to negotiate its own trade agreement with it’s close cousins...no wonder the EU was SO SCARED to let them go.
And to think, perhaps we could join that zone, once Trump takes office, of course.
We forfeited that possibility on this date 240 years ago. Small price to pay, considering what we gained.
