A recent report by the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget raises concerns that proposals by this year’s presidential candidates would further increase the national debt.
America’s major entitlement programs—Medicare, Medicaid, Obamacare, and Social Security—are driving the nation’s greatest fiscal challenge, and yet Americans have heard very little about how the candidates will address these programs.
Autopilot entitlement spending on federal health care programs and Social Security, along with the net interest the nation must pay on the federal debt, are projected to consume all federal tax revenues by 2033.

Cannot be done. The last three words of the 24th amendment were a suicide pill. We are going to ride this thing into the ground.
(They were always supposed to have a private sponsor that took care of them instead of using taxpayer money. What happened to that?)

Yes, and get rid of the ‘crazy letter’ loophole. Also cut spending on people who have never paid a dime into the system.
You want this to stop? Institute a system where those receiving any kind of federal, state, or local assistance must show up at a gov't building every day at 7AM to clean toilets, wash window...whatever needs to be done. That loud sucking sound you hear are the people rushing to find a real job that pays more.
Until I hear we no longer send 12 billion a year to Afghanistan, 3 billion each to Pakistan, Egypt, and are no longer kicking bales of hundreds off of C-130s to every camel jockey out there. Until I hear we are not giving Iran 150 billion in a single year, I have no desire to flip the finger and cut the benefit for a retiree that has zero chances in this economy to make it up.

Throw in free 0bamaphones, free health insurance, rent and utilities assistance, food stamps, free meals at schools year-around,...soon we will have free broadband access with, obviously, free PCs for poor people, free earned income credit monies sent to illegals by the millions, free public school for illegals, free heal care for illegals, soon free college for most everyone....

Exactly, I am dead set against cuts in SS for retirees and at least anyone over 50 unless it is impossible. And if you are still having out smartphones and supporting tens of millions of immigrants with one thin dime.... then I know of a funding source for Grandpas SS check.
They are always pointing Ellis Island in our face. I remember something about them needing to prove they wont be a burden.
We have a huge number of people are cheating and even people who have been dead for years getting payments.
People should need to re register and re apply on an annual basis and prove their eligibility.
For disability payments, there should also be an annual revision of eligibility.
Past history has shown that instituting a periodic re application policy has cut the riders on the system up to 80%, especially in the first round of re appication and re evaluation as obvious the fraudsters don't re apply and drop out of the system
Our government is fed by massive debt and money printing, enabled by our fiat, unbacked currency, and the Federal Reserve.
And the massive, left, nanny-states supports financially and politically nearly every leftist movement that Conservatives and limited-government Constitutionalists oppose - from abortion and planned parenthood, to #BLM.
NOTHING will improve until we end the central planning of the money supply (i.e.. kill the Fed) and get our money supply out of the hands of statists and progressives.
I hope at least the budget people say no to congress who force these weapons programs down the pentegons throats they don’t want. That alone would balance the budget.
Funny. We have agreements with them. Trump will negotiate with them if we have him as president. Hillary could stop Israel welfare I suppose.

Although there is plenty to be “fixed” in the entitlement programs, there is incredible waste across the entire government.
A hiring freeze would be a good start. So would a near-freeze on the use of consultants. And “grants” have been overdone.
IMHO, what is REALLY required is the WILL to stop wasting the taxpayers’ money.
Hmmm.... I wonder if Carly would like to be the “Czar” in charge of cutting small-ball spending?
They can ask Congress for such bills but that is it.
Laudable but articles like this are a waste of time. We have to stop the Oligarchy aND profiteering. It’s all over if we fail there will be nothing left to save and worse, no means short of civil war to stop it.
