Sen. Ted Cruz, Donald Trump's former chief rival for the GOP nomination, will speak at the Republican National Convention later this month, the Texas senator told reporters after the two met Thursday in Washington.

Cruz told reporters Thursday that the real estate mogul offered his former primary rival a speaking slot during the meeting and Cruz accepted. He added that he and Trump did not discuss an endorsement.

Its those kinds of childish, bitter comments that have reduced Freerepublic’s respect in the political circle.

Cruz and his wife both need visible vindication after the nasty primary. Not sure what Trump could offer to Cruz, but there’s definitely something that was promised.

Cruz is smarter then Marco Rubio. He knows that endorsing DJT is to his advantage, all around. Rubio will lose the Republican, Florida senatorial primary, if he does not wise up and endorse DJT big time....like right now!!! Gotta say.....Rubio is not too bright in the brains department!!!! GO DONALD J. TRUMP!!!

‘So we’re at halftime for the nomination? really dude?’

That’s how they see it. They want the convention to involve sufficient chaos, upheaval and division that Hillary wins. Then in four years white knight Cruz rides to the rescue.

It is exactly that. But you know the supporters are in on it. Otherwise, there would be a groundswell from the Cruz supporter camp itself, demanding he get off the sidelines in the country’s literal fight for its life. He wouldn’t have to campaign for Trump, just AGAINST Hillary.

But Cruz sits around letting others do battle, and his supporters are complicit.

Why do you think Trump gave Cruz the go-ahead to speak at the Convention?

Very Strange Decision by the Trumpster.
I assume you agree with that.

Good. Stay safe.

BTW: I am sure the Democrats will be voting Hillary regardless of their life status.

If I remember correctly, you just entered Jovian orbit.

You’ll do well to stay there.

You don’t need Cruz or his supporters to win, do you?

Ordinary ex-Cruz people who learned what a disgusting POS Cruz is? Absolutely.

The Cruzlims? Oh HELL no.

Because he wants to survive the convention.

“The 2016 Convention Rules haven’t been adopted by the Convention delegates yet. That occurs once the convention is in session.”

Yes.

Also, until the delegates vote there is no nominee.

Once Trump is selected by that vote, I expect all candidates to live up to their promise.

I agree it is very strange. Hillary can still use Cruz' name in her ads, and can hear it now:

"Donald Trump's Lyin' Ted spoke at the Republican national convention. America, do you want a lying Vice President?!"
