Sen. Ted Cruz, Donald Trump's former chief rival for the GOP nomination, will speak at the Republican National Convention later this month, the Texas senator told reporters after the two met Thursday in Washington.

Cruz told reporters Thursday that the real estate mogul offered his former primary rival a speaking slot during the meeting and Cruz accepted. He added that he and Trump did not discuss an endorsement.

No, they are not half of us on FR. Many of us DID support Cruz until he embarked on the deceptive and unethical stunts in Iowa last February, and othe sleazy tactics since then; including failure to honor his word to support the Republican nominee. How anyone could support a dishonorable creature like Cruz boggles the mind. Why do you support liars? Are your friends and family liars?

Everyone had an opportunity to let their voice be heard.

Some Trump supporters do carry their anti-Cruz vitriol too far. For many, however, the issue is more vital. They/we see a real possibility of Hillary winning. The reason this possibility exists is first of all election fraud, but second the backstabbing and undermining of people like Ryan and Cruz.

I understand that Cruz supporters may not believe Ted is as bad as Ryan, but he is. Cruz is the one who keeps the convention rebellion movement festering. Had he endorsed early, with a battle cry of defeating Hillary, the convention neverTrumps wouldn’t have had a leg to stand on. By withholding his support in the war against Hillary, Cruz has done the country a profound disservice. That is what keeps the hard feelings against him simmering.

It’s a matter of character. As an adult, you are what you are. Either you have it or you don’t. Cruz has proved over and over that he lacks character.

I was a major Cruz supporter at first

But he should have been smart enough to accept Trumps offer of the VP spot

That shows bad decision making- it would have (at the time) been great ticket. Its too late for that now without a MAJOR face-saving speech from Trump.

Something along the line of “You never learn anything new if you only listen to people who agree with you all the time. We have had major differences and I value vigorus debate and new points of view, especially in this office- and Cruz has done valuable work in the Senate.. blah blah...”

Yes, that would be a better option. I wonder if Cruz could successfully navigate the expected gauntlet in a Senate confirmation hearing.

No, you need to accept that puke for what he IS, not what you imagine.

I hope burying the hatchet looks far less uncomfortable then Ted Kennedy’s half-hearted walk on-stage to shake hands with Jimmuh Carter as if he had cooties

There is no Republican nominee. We haven't had the bloody convention yet!

Okay. “Presumptive” nominee who won more votes than any other Republican in history. Feel better now?

(pathetic)

I was initially all “constitutional scholar” Cruz. Til I saw him in action.

The evening of the Soros’ financed mini riot in Chicago, NOTrusTed was speaking at a Lincoln Day dinner nearby. I commented here that night and I’ll use the same words today...it was with great giddiness that the “strict” Constitutionalist approached the bank of reporters in the hotel lobby. He made a passing (10 words or less) remark about the 1A, but then with a glee usually only seen when HS cheerleaders fight, he went on, and on, and on, and then on some more about Trump’s “hate filled, incindiary rhetoric” and how Trump had caused a Soros renta mob to riot.

I’ll never vote for him. He is a charlatan. An NWO lackey.

Tell that to Trump. He picked Cruz to speak at the convention. Trump must be nuts. You need to get your message to him pronto.

What is Trump thinking?

LOL. What will you guys think if Trump picks Cruz for VP?

I’m sick of Ted Cruz.

The man lost to Trump and he should endorse him.

Now a convention slot is opened to him, and going into the convention, he still hasn’t endorsed.

I’d rather not comment on him, but he continues to surface from time to time in a way that causes me to want to remind folks what a jackass is is, and continues to be.

Ted will go to the floor of the convention and endorse one person, himself. He’s not going to talk about the virtues of Trump.

I coulda woulda shoulda be better for you all, but nooooo, you and your states backed Trump. Hugh mistake.

Ted, just go away...
