I don't think that in the US, Blacks are generally known for their interest in deer hunting.
If anyone is old enough to remember, the ambush technique reminds me of the Black Liberation Army (BLA), which was suspected of involvement in over 70 incidents between 1970 and 1976 including the murders of as many as 13 police officers. I don't think that any single one of their attacks was as bad as this one.
I’m leaning black nutjobs who were fired-up by Black Lives Matter. Jihadis would be crowing about this and taking public credit by now.
If the shooters were “white or Muslim”, more civilians would be dead. “White Supremacists” would have fired on the crowd, not the cops. “Muslim terrorists” would have indiscriminately fired on everyone.

The mayor said they are withholding the names of the suspects for “the safety of the public”. (Not sure how THAT works). The police chief said the perp specified he was acting alone and not affiliated with any group. He was then blown up.
