Ditto that. Definitely a CABINET position, but not VP.

Carly Fiorina or Ben Cardin are both better suited image-wise (”optics”) and constitutionally (character, not charter).

Go further back. The Socialist wing dumped the last Conservative Democrat President in 1896 with Grover Cleveland, replacing him with William Jennings Bryan. Only in 1904 and 1924 did centrist/center-right Democrats capture the party nomination for President (centrist Judge Alton Parker in ‘04, perhaps more Conservative than Theodore Roosevelt and ex-Solicitor General John W. Davis in 1924, who was a Conservative, the last time two Conservatives had both party nominations, facing off against Calvin Coolidge, to the utter hysteria of the left, who endorsed Socialist Republican Sen. Bob La Follette, Sr.).

FDR launched his purge of Conservative Congressional Democrats by 1938, which began to dwindle in numbers over the next 3 decades, and were effectively eliminated with the Watergate elections of 1974 and the Marxist McGovernite takeover.

Of course, the GOP now is Socialist, too. They haven’t rolled back a leftist Democrat agenda since 1921 under President Harding and a GOP supermajority.

No way! First, the choice of a Democrat for VP would drive off some of the remaining Republicans committed to Trump. Secondly, despite being fired, Flynn was Obama’s pick to be a yes man in the military and help change the service.

That said, a cabinet position would not be as distasteful although I would expect Trump to exhaust more conservative choices before crossing the aisle. The country has gone too far left. Trump’s success shows the desire of millions to swing more to the right, hopefully meeting an equilibrium at some point.

I think he’s on the wrong track, the take-the-war-to-them track, the Bush 43 track, which is better than the Obama track, the love-and-worship-all-muzzies track.

But it’s not the Trump track.

What I hope remains the Trump track:

Keep the f*ers out track. Build the wall, deny visas to killer kultures.

Kick the f*ers out track (to the extent possible).

I’m done with purple fingers and trying to teach savages how to be 1% civilized.

It’s impossible.

Build the wall.

Block the visas.

Enshrine the 2nd Amendment in Forever Protection.

Keep the savages out. Kick them out.

Stay out of savage f*-head areas and concentrate on making America great again.

He just said he was pro choice. Trump’s VP? I don’t think that will fly.

But where does he stand on ALL OTHER issues?

He wasn’t a Democrat by accident.

I would prefer it if he selected a Republican for that job.

Yes to UNexit.

Yes to AllEnemiesExit (kick ‘em out of the US).

No to emphasizing sending troops overseas.

He can’t be SecDef. There’s the ten year rule.
Allen West however is now eligible.

Keep the savages out. Kick them out.

Then blow them up....and don't send troops.

I think he’d be a plus in a number of ways. He probably will identify himself as a Democrat....but from the type of thirty years ago and not from the current group. This would attract a lot of older Democrats who are frustrated with the current platform.

This is exactly why I looked up this news article here. I wanted to re-iterate this fact. Sometimes I think it isn't said enough. The dem party, while annoying at times in the past, wasn't completely corrupted by the libs and progs as it is now.

We need Gingrich or Juliani. W’ere too far over the cliff to have a conscientious, moral conservative like Allan West

Unfortunately, as was pointed out to me on another thread (sorry I forget who said it), he cannot be Secy of Defense under the law that created that position. It’s a provision designed to ensure civilian control. Well he could be SofD, but only after 7 years of civilian life. No ex-military officer to be SofD within 7 yrs of active service, according to law.

Or he’s just really smart and registered a (D) for self preservation during the Clinton years.
