WTF!? Chris Kyle’s Wife Trying To Stop His Family From Helping Wounded Vets
Freedom Daily ^ | Infidel

Posted on 07/10/2016 10:03:41 AM PDT by GrootheWanderer

Jeff Kyle, the brother of slain former Navy SEAL, Chris Kyle, posted to his Facebook that Chris’ wife, Taya, had directed lawyers to send a “cease & desist” order to an organization the Kyle family is working with, because they are raising funds for wounded veterans.

Two organizations have teamed up to raise funds for veterans, and are using the Kyle name, with permission of the Kyle family.

One organization, a Texas based extreme obstacle race team called Lone Star Spartans, has been holding annual race events in memory of Chris Kyle, and to raise money for vets. Jeff Kyle took part in last year’s race. The other organization, Survival Straps, is sponsoring the race. The event benefits the Guardian For Heroes Foundation, and America’s Mighty Warriors.

Before Chris was killed, he publicly promised America’s Mighty Warriors half of all the profits that came from his book, American Sniper. If you aren’t aware of the significance of this charity we’ll explain.

America’s Mighty Warriors was founded by Debbie Lee, the mother of the first Navy SEAL to be killed in Iraq, Marc Lee. Marc was killed on August 2, 2006. The foundation runs “Heroes Hope Home,” a retreat where families of fallen servicemen & women can come for rest and relaxation, and to reflect and rejuvenate. The organization also helps wounded vets pay for experimental treatments not covered by the VA or insurance, amongst other things.

Chris and Debbie were brought together by a tragic incident, but together they vowed to make the lives of other veterans greater. This is why Chris promised the profits of his book American Sniper to the charity America’s Mighty Warriors.

Yeah, but the one in question is one Kyle himself had endorsed and promised the money from his book.

“”I must have missed it - What did they do?””

Same here - I haven’t heard a thing that would relate to the Pentagon and Chris Kyle.....

“Kyle himself had endorsed and promised the money from his book.”

Promising to give something away for free is NOT a binding contract.

This always happens when “the family” starts making money off some dead guy’s well-deserved good reputation.

Oh yeah, I remember some discrepancy between his DD-214 and some other records. I think I’ve got a similar situation on mine as well. My DD-214 lists my Good Conduct as a second award of it. With under nine years active duty, I don’t think I’d qualify time-wise for a second one. (I described it to my kids as my “Didn’t Get Caught” ribbon.)

The decision vacates the $1.3 million “unjust enrichment” award, and the panel ordered a new trial for the defamation portion of the verdict...and the lawyer vultures continue to circle the family carcass.

I’m not sure how any action by DOD would affect Mrs. Kyle’s decision.

BINGO!!! My wife and I spend a great deal of our time volunteering for legitimate organizations like the USO, etc. At least half and probably a significantly larger percentage of the people and organizations claiming to raise money for “wounded veterans” are not legit. Even some of the “legit” organizations pay their lead people ridiculously large sums of money... hundreds of thousands of dollars per year in many cases.

This is of course not that unusual, many “charities” pay their CEOs exorbitant amounts of money. Take St. Jude Medical Center, during years when we could barely make our house payment my wife was contributing thousands of dollars to them.

Daniel Starks CEO
St. Jude Medical (NYSE: STJ)
Total pay
2012: $6.72 million, up 2 percent
2011: $6.57 million
2010: $9.44 million

John Heinmiller, executive vice president: $4.56 million, up 11 percent

Michael Rousseau, group president: $4.53 million, up 12 percent

Denis Gestin, president, International Division: $3.06 million, up 4 percent

Donald Zurbay, vice president, finance and chief executive officer: $1.69 million (He was not listed as an executive officer in previous years)

And St. Jude is considered to be totally legit with even Donald Trump’s son being a major fund raiser. Many of the groups claiming to raise money for veterans are more questionable. One should always do their homework before giving money to charities.

The boys in the pentagon decided to do an investigation about the medals Chris had received. Took away 3 of them because they said he got them due to a “clerical error”. I wonder who ordered this BS. More than likely, some Clintoon supporting commie ‘RATS.

Take a closer look at the webpage you posted from.... St. Jude Medical is a "global medical device company headquartered in Little Canada, Minnesota." (from Wikipedia) It has no affiliation with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

I don’t have any problem with her protecting the Chris Kyle brand, but I do have a problem with her alienating his family, if this is true.

Because if she didn’t, then it would set precedent.

That was my thinking, but the FReepers already have their pitchforks and torches out for her and the Pentagon, so why get in the way of good ol' fashioned mob rage?

Once again, if you plumb through all of the replies on an FR thread dealing with a controversial subject, you will find someone posting common sense and reason.

Thank you.
