ATLANTA Wanda Melton has voted for every Republican presidential nominee since Ronald Reagan in 1980, but now the Georgia grandmother plans to cross over to support Democrat Hillary Clinton.
Im not a real fan of Hillary, Melton says from her office in Atlanta. But I think it would just be awful to have Donald Trump. She adds: I cannot in good conscience let that happen.
Melton is among a particular group of voters, whites with college degrees, who are resistant to Trump. Their skepticism comes as an ominous warning as Trump struggles to rebuild even the losing coalition that Mitt Romney managed four years ago.
College-educated whites made up more than one-third of the electorate in 2012. Polls suggest Trump trails Clinton with those voters, especially women.

The only time I hear college-educated people saying something nice about HRC is when the subject turns to their student loans.
Yeah, so...?
Maybe this grandmother would rather taxpayers foot the bill for lazy children and grandchildren than she be pressured to do so. All that free stuff must look good if you allow family to mooch. There are lots of grandparents stuck with the end result of raising do nothing kids. Too stupid to realize nothing is really free.
As a Georgian this idiot is an embarrassment.
There are many college degrees available now where one actually comes out stupider and less able to think critically than when one went in.
So true. College is about how to learn, not just how to memorize to pass a test.
In the real world critical understanding and appreciation of the outcome are what become most important.
Just because you thought you were “ in tune” with a professor doesn’t mean they were right in the first place....
After all if they were so smart they would be out there on their own hauling in major $$$ and fame instead of sliding along on tenure...

This article has the stink of a nevertrumper.
good points
plus it doesn’t say she works herself...
and it doesn’t give her age
a grandmother to me should be 70-80
or like me 67...
she could be 37 and already a grandmother...
Loretta Lynn was a grandmother at 31...
grandmother
sounds respectable doesn’t it ???
but Hillary is passing herself off as a grandmother...
shes using that status as political ammo...
“Look at me I’m a grandmother (when you look at me you see respectable, trustworthy, caring, mature, solid citizen, protector etc)”
Pretty much proves what I’ve said for years. A college degree is not a measure of intelligence.
I’m meeting some like her. Usually you find they have some connection to government. They will be teachers, employees of state to local government, or some heavily regulated and licensed occupation like nursing, or work in a government dependent business like hospitals, charities, etc.. In other words they work amongst libs, progs, and government enabled grifters who belittle them if the express support for Trump.
They are embarrassed by Trump and want to be part of the smart set. For some reason they do not mind alienating family and friends.
Trump was not my pick but he has my unbridled support and I just want two things. Immigration control and Supreme Court picks. That is what I hammer on with these quislings.
She’ll NEVER get a vote from this white, female, college graduate.
Just goes to show that having a college education just doesn’t mean you’re smart, just that you put in time, and played the PC game.
Ugh. Well, she ain’t getting my vote or consideration.
