One notes that as soon as he was known to not use an AR-15, all coverage of the rifle was dropped.

I wouldn’t call the SKS an antique...

An SKS is not a bad rifle. There are, in fact, add-ons, with which you can really trick one out. Regardless they are still a cheap rifle.

Police photos show Micah X without his face, and the Saiga AK he used.

So what happened to the pictures of a dead shooter and his Saiga AK? Sure would be nice to get something official...but that would be no fun for the endless speculators!

I have a picture of the dead bastard with an AK47. What gives?

Warning: Graphic image

You can see the body armor the #Dallas shooter was wearing when he was killed.

Wow. Then what's up with the photos circulating on the Internet of the bombed assassin? Entirely different weapon in this photo:

Regardless of the police photos guns are scary and cause this violence. There is no reason anyone needs to have an AR-SKS that shoots high capacity glocks at 300 clips per second.

Saiga AK-74 5.45x39 upgraded with Magpul furniture, single point sling, red dot sight and 30 rd mag. Nothing very special. The defect part was pulling the trigger.

Never believe anything that the media reports, ditto for anything from a politician. Free Republic will almost always have the correct answer, but you have to sort that out from the mindless speculation that come from the idiots.

In this case, the picture from the crime scene of a modified Saiga 5.45mm semi-automatic rife based on the AK-74 is the correct answer. Another picture of the deceased shooter was taken at the same rubble strewn scene.

SKS is a Chinese Slave Labor P.O.S. rifle that fires a 7 x 39 round. It’s terrible for long distance.

A M-14 is a much better rifle.

Interesting how the MSM so-called gun experts always wind up shooting themselves in the foot when trying to identify firearms. Some gun person sitting on their back porch would say “that’s a whatever whatever with added this and that to make it a leadenspittenloundebboomer model XPIIIver5.JK

Didn’t Obama ban Russian imported guns? How, oh how, would a Russian import still be used in a crime with a law that says you can’t do that?

Bueller?

The picture is likely showing, The rifle is an AK47 variant called a Vepr (7.62 and not 5.45) with a 30 round tapco mag, single point sling. There appears to be a joint at the base of the butstock indicating that it might be a folding stock, and an imitation Trijicon sight. If the sight is a real tirjicon then Fahed probably brought it back from Afghanistan. A real trijicon is pricy, over 1,000 USD.

This was a highly capable set up. He knew what he was doing. He had practiced with it as set up as well and carried his M4 similarly in Afgh.

The Chinese were licensed to build the SKS in 1959. Those used in the Korean conflict were Russian manufactured.
