Idaho police arrested a man -- who identifies as a transgender woman -- on one count of felony voyeurism Tuesday after he took pictures of a woman while she was changing clothes in a Target dressing room, the Post Register reported.
Sheriff's deputies arrested 43-year-old Sean Patrick Smith, who reportedly identifies as Shauna Patricia Smith, the day after he was spotted reaching over the changing room wall with a cell phone taking pictures of a woman who was trying on clothes. The victim confronted Smith, who then ran out of the store.
The alleged incident took place on Monday. Authorities tracked down Smith after interviewing witnesses and reviewing security footage, local news stations reported. If convicted, Smith faces up to five years in prison.
Target announced in April that men who identify as women would be allowed to use the women's facilities at the retail store. Soon after, a man recorded himself receiving permission from Target staff to use the women's bathrooms after he explained that's where he "feels comfortable."
A petition calling for a boycott of Target received hundreds of thousands of signatures from people upset with the bathroom policy. The company's stock dropped soon after, costing the company more than $2 billion, according to one estimate.
Target shareholders expressed their displeasure with the bathroom policy at the annual shareholders meeting last month but the company has remained committed to allowing customers to use whichever bathroom they're most comfortable using.
Will Obama open the First transgender prison ?
“Transgendered” people are overwhelmingly Men with “man parts” who like women and who see women as sex objects.
Just because they wear dresses is no reason to let these predators and ambush hunters into women’s dressing rooms.
The public believes “transvestites” are kind of sick. So the term “transvestite” is avoided. Instead, the public is encouraged to support the “civil rights” of the “transgendered”.
Some of these people do have their genitals surgically mutilated in an attempt to find happiness. But the majority of them avoid this and have genitals that function just as intended. Which is why they shouldn’t be in women’s areas.
"But officer, did you see the fabulous soft leather pumps she was wearing? They were divine and FUSCHIA! oh my gawd so cute. I have to get a pair and just wanted a picture so I could match them. Oh by the way, did I tell you how handsome you are in the uniform? Did you have it tailored?"
The American people like those Target stores for all kinds of reasons.
If Christians boycott Target it will be game set match.
He didn’t mean to do this.
I don't go there anymore since this BS became public.
Multiply that by a few million and you probably have a failing business model.
Why companies insist on inserting their brand name into the public discourse or controversy is a mystery to me.
Another male lesbian.
Less and less people are shopping there
For himself?
Sounds like a joke, right? ... but in our very sick justice system it's a defense that could likely prevail!
I have an alibi.
And the police weren’t charged with a hate crime for arresting him/her/it?
Since Targets wants people to use the bathroom they are most comfortable with - what if most women do not feel comfortable on Target’s bathrooms?
Yes, women can boycott Target - but what if women took a stance and actually stood outside Target stores and held signs which read, “girls and women are people too!”
Just sayin’
But officer! I didn’t know which sex I was at the moment!
Here is the cutie.
Ah! The rare transgender lesbian.
Maybe he was just looking for clothing ideas.
Is anyone really surprised?
What does surprise me is that any woman is stupid enough to even be in a Target, let alone in a dressing room there.
