Col. [Ret.] Igor Korotchenko, the editor-in-chief of "National Security Magazine," said that Russia needs to declare the entire post-Soviet area as "the zone of its special and exclusive interests" and to "bare our teeth at the Americans and at NATO, because this Anglo-Saxon breed understands nothing but force." He was speaking on the Russia 1 Sunday evening flagship talk show on July 10, following the Warsaw NATO summit.

Russians are not Rus. Rus people were Swedes who became the foreign ruling dynasty in current Russian and Ukrainian areas. There were far more natives so their blood disappeared over centuries.

Confusing answer but I’ll try my best: The original inhabitants of Great Britain & Ireland were several Celtic/Gaelic tribes. A thousand+ years ago, a couple of northern Germania tribes- the Angles & the Saxons- landed on Great Britain & settled mainly in England creating a fusion culture with the Celtics tribes (Anglo-Celtic). Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland & the Republic of Ireland saw far less foreign settlement & retained much stronger native, Celtics cultures. Throughout the former British empire- The United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the majority of our white, European populations are made up of British & Irish lineage & most of those immigrants were from England specifically. The most prestigious & dominant culture in England were the Anglo-Saxons. The rest of the world, therefore, came to refer to nations in the Anglosphere (U.K.,U.S., Can.,Aus.,N.Z.,Ire.) as Anglo-Saxon because of our shared culture, lineage, customs & language. I think here in the USA if you added up all those of majority English, Scotch, Welsh & Irish heritage & those whoseeking families have been here so long they just identify as American (90% are of Brit heritage), it makes up about 2/3rd of all whites. That works out to be half the nation as a whole. I think people mistakenly refer to our general culture as Anglo Saxon. It’s more Anglo Celtic ;)
He couldn’t mean us. We’re a melting pot and we put diversity above all else. The Anglo-Saxon is now a minority in this country.

I disagree. All countries are melting pots- including England, Ireland, etc. You’re correct- we aren’t majority Anglo-Saxon, but neither is England itself. We are of majority Anglo-Celtic heritage. Sometimes it shocks me how little people in the western, ‘new world’ know about our heritage. Too often people in the west talk about being mutts from a melting pot, as though our ancestors left behind nations of pure lineage. Every nation is a melting pot from various sources. Culture depends on what predominates. There’s a reason most of us don’t speak German or Danish & don’t feel a loyalty to France- because the nation wasn’t founded by them. It was founded by England & her family of nations. We speak her language, many of our founding fathers felt a loyalty to her & though we talk ad nauseum about our diversity- that culture is overwhelmingly our main heritage. That’s why the the U.S. & U.K. have the ‘special relationship’- because she’s the motherland :)

If force is all they (and therefore some of us) understand, then why aren’t they using any of it on the common enemy?

My post was purely satirical - a dig at that bloviating officer.
Well several things have changed. We military wise right now are weak. Our weakest in all services in manpower and equipment level of readiness since before WW2. While we were closing bases and selling to developers and destroying our defense programs like no tomorrow Russia simply shuttered their plants. When the Morons in the Pentagon and COMNAVATLANTIC place ALL 5 east coast carriers {we have 10 total in the Navy} all at the same base with likely another in the nearby yards we are sitting ducks. Oh did I mention foreign flagged ships by the dozens go buy them as they are tied to the pier? Don’t underestimate Russia’s intent or power.
Agreed we are weaker but not the converse that Russia is stronger. Our core problem is the political assholery who infest the Pentagon. Strong POTUS leadership can correct that quickly by showing them the door.
Europe will be out of the picture as far as NATO and EU goes. It's already conquered territory property of Islamic factions who took over while the EU leaders were too busy being P.C.
