The head of Cleveland's largest police union is calling on Ohio Gov. John Kasich to temporarily restrict the state's open carry gun laws during this week's Republican National Convention following Sunday's shooting in Louisiana that killed three officers and wounded at least three others.
"We are sending a letter to Gov. Kasich requesting assistance from him. He could very easily do some kind of executive order or something -- I don't care if it's constitutional or not at this point," Stephen Loomis, president of Cleveland Police Patrolmen's Association, told CNN. "They can fight about it after the RNC or they can lift it after the RNC, but I want him to absolutely outlaw open-carry in Cuyahoga County until this RNC is over."
State law in Ohio allows for licensed firearm owners to wear their weapons in public. With the exception of a small "secure zone" inside and around the Quicken Loans Arena, residents, delegates and protesters are legally permitted to walk around the city -- including within its 1.7 square mile regulated "event zone" -- any firearm not explicitly banned by the state.

So he only wants BLM armed. Smart.
Here is the most frightening part of this article:
“I don’t care if it’s constitutional or not at this point,” Stephen Loomis, president of Cleveland Police Patrolmen’s Association, told CNN”
We are screwed if the cops start agreeing with Obammy and think the Constitution doesnt mean anything!!
...’I don’t care if it’s constitutional or not at this point,” Stephen Loomis, president of Cleveland Police Patrolmen’s Association, told CNN.’
There it is.
All animals are equal, but some pigs are more equal than other animals.
Wow.. He doesn’t care if it’s constitutional or not?! Bad idea.
Don’t keep the peace-loving good guy sheep dogs from their rights!
Is it any wonder everyone HATES unions anymore?
Shephard Smith went off minutes ago, live against former LA Governor Bobby Jindal for Jindal daring to say;
“ALL LIVES MATTER”
Smith just told Jindal;
“Why would you say such a controversial statement, when it is so offense to blacks.”
Jindal again stated: “ALL LIVES MATTER”
Smith, all in a huff, just told Jindal that the interview has ended.
No kidding. What rank stupidity.
#AllGunsMatter
I was almost inclined to agree with not allowing open carry in this situation, until I read this. I don't care what any government goon doesn't care about when it comes to the Constitution. I also don't trust that scheming weasel John Kasich.
Oi-—ink!

(Works well. See? Six posts before yours, at 11:37 AM.)
Oh how democrat is that? Suspend open carry when you most need it to protect yourself and your family.
Here's a thought, let's test this policy by disarming Stephen Loomis and putting him front and center in uniform for BLM Monday morning.
Instead, how about if he denies the violent BLM and New Black Panthers access to that area of the city, and the hotels where the attendees are staying.
They should immediately search any NBPs, and if they are found to be felons and carrying, arrest them and put them in jail.
Not really what you want to hear from those responsible for enforcing the law.

The New Black Panthers said they will be Open Carry to try to start a battle.
Hey Schlepper!
Actually, your life doesn't matter.
Meanwhile, Mayor Jackson and the Cleveland host committee are receiving nothing but praise for how terrific they've been about planning the convention, and working with the RNC and security forces.
It's as if Kasich wants it to fail. So I understand the point the police union chief is making.
