NO SIGN OF TRUMP ENDORSEMENT, BUT PLENTY OF CRUZ AMBITION
Associated Press ^ | 7/20/2016 | Thomas Beaumont

CLEVELAND (AP) -- Sen. Ted Cruz's Texas-size political ambitions will be on full display Wednesday as the primary runner-up delivers a prime-time convention speech, but holds off on a full-throated endorsement of Republican nominee Donald Trump.

The conservative senator repeatedly clashed with Trump during a bitter primary fight, with the New York businessman mocking the lawmaker as "Lyin' Ted." With an eye toward 2020, Cruz's team drafted a convention speech focusing on adherence to the Constitution, a calling card for conservatives and a perceived contrast with Trump.

Cruz has not endorsed Trump despite pleas for party unity from the campaign and party officials. Nor is he expected to in his speech, which was carefully screened by Trump campaign officials, the senator's aides said.

Disagree on the “just go home”. At least he showed instead of behaving like Kasich and not showing up at all.

But yes, he should endorse. He signed the pledge. Just another lying politician (lyin Ted).

Speaking of the Bible, there’s nothing in it about Rafael’s brand of fleshly Dominionism, either. Frankly, that particular doctrinal error sounds more like a get rich quick scheme than anything else.

“If Cruz or anyone else doesn’t realize that, they are dumb in spite of their ivy league degrees.”

Cruz, just like most DC rats, doesn’t care whether he wins or loses, just that he is the nominee; that’s power in DC.

What a nice delusion you have shared. Perhaps you need to share it elsewhere as this is a PRO TRUMP forum.

Trump is no fool, I expect something is planned tonight to cause shock and awe to the press that is trying to smear him.

Notice how little money he spent to get to where he is, how little money in ads were expended before the convention.

Also there is a long term advantage to all involved in this play. The press is building this event up as Trump getting his. When folks tune in and see the press if full of it, that helps with the republican narrative going forward, which between now and November is going to be almost entirely negative on the presses part. On an unconscious level folks would walk away with the notion that the press is wrong about Trump. They are going to voluntarily sit through speeches which most would not, especially millennial age folks who do not frequent conservative outlets.

How do you get folks to watch political speeches? they are boring. This does it and Cruz gets a huge platform out of it. Trump folks will change their tune about him overnight it he does it well, all the past transgressions will be forgotten.

It is a win-win for everyone, unless Ted Cruz is a complete idiot. Which he could be, but I doubt it, he has had time to think and this is the best way to bring back his reputation, not only with the right but with the new center that will be the republican party if they are successful this election.

This is Cruz’ chance to redeem himself.

He lost that chance a long time ago. He is so loathed.

Hey Ted, I knew Ronald Reagan and you’re no Ronald Reagan.

So stop trying to think you are creating a Reagan “moment” - Trump ain’t Ford.

‘Cruz, who is a good an honorable man.’

Cruz okayed a campaign ad that stated, “Trump has made himself rich by using eminent domain.”

It was a total lie. In fact, Trump has not made one single penny from using eminent domain.

When you break that lie down, in context, you can see that it was intended not merely to undercut Trump but to outright destroy him. What good and honorable man would attempt to destroy a fellow human being with a wholesale lie?

I expect Cruz to be the globalist self serving prick that he is. Hope I’m pleasantly surprised but I doubt it

I think you will be waiting a long time.

Cruz marketed himself to his supporters as anointed by God to run~meeting with pastors, wife getting messages from On High about her husband running, father preaching in churches about his son, etc. I suspect that Cruz supporters see Trump as immoral, and therefore undeserving of the nomination or that Trump took away what God had set aside for Ted.

I am guessing that it will be very difficult to reverse course on that for him or his supporters.

What the #NeverTrump supporters don’t seem to understand is that this election is not about Conservatism versus Liberalism...It is about Liberty versus Tyranny and National Sovereignty versus Globalism.

“proven conservative”

Excuse me, but Ted more than proved that he is just the opposite, in too many ways to count.

I would say that Mike Pence will handle that solidly. Cruz? It always was about him only, and not the country. Didn’t see that at first because I bought into the deception. But thank God the truth of Cruz has been revealed. I

The only time they are ‘Country First’ is when it benefits them...we on the other hand want our America back from the CFRs; Wall Street; Super packs; special interest groups; NWOs; and Globalists...

If you look at all these people supporting the Romneys; Bushes; Clintons; Cruzes; Ryans and others like them you will see they all support these causes and programs, what they don't seem to understand, if Hillary gets in, THEY won't be included in her plans, she is only using them to get what SHE wants, look at Bernie Sanders, she used him, paid him, and now he's kicked to the curb, not that I like Sanders, but this is how she treats people...
