Carl Bernstein: Drudge "An Influence Unequalled," Large Measure Of Why Trump Is The Nominee
Real Clear Politics ^ | July 20,2016 | Ian Schwartz

Carl Bernstein talks the power of the Drudge Report and the influence the eponymous editor had in the Republican primary race during a CNN panel discussion about Roger Ailes and the future of FOX News. Bernstein said FOX has driven Trump's candidacy less than Matt Drudge and called the website "an influence unequalled."

"One of the interesting things we've seen in this campaign is, FOX has driven Trump's candidacy less than Matt Drudge," the legendary journalist said Wednesday on CNN. "Drudge is really great new factor in this election in terms of media. He is -- Drudge, that site has been unapologetically in Trump's pocket from the beginning. And I would say a large measure of why Donald Trump is the nominee goes to Matt Drudge in much the way that FOX has -- when you use the word kingmaker, I'm not sure it goes quite far that way, but it is an influence unequalled."

“an influence unequaled”

Sorry, that title belongs to the mainstream media which has shaped public opinion for decades.

Ridiculous assertion. Drudge’s reach to actual eyes cannot come close to that of the general media’s influential daily reach. They just can’t figure out how the mass media has lost its believably factor. Couldn’t be all the lies they spew daily nah, it because of Drudge. #yeahright

I would say that Breitbart really has been more influential than Drudge.

But the real influence has been our political candidates whose only concern is their rise to power, and not the well being of the country and her citizens. The outright ignoring and contempt of what their constituents want and often times demand.

In other words, it's the POLITICIAN'S STUPID.

I saw Bernstein on CNN earlier today, bitching about Fox and their motto `fair and balanced,’ et cetera and so on.
As if Fox isn’t bad enough at times, it gripes the Left to no end that they don’t have a complete lock on all TV political news sources.

So Bernstein is lamenting the influence of a single news aggregator against the unified power of most print, television and Internet news and social media sites alignment in support of democrats. Drudge must be an Olympic God.

THE REASON that Trump is the nominee is the crushing public oppression from the Left — Obama, the Media, Education and the popular culture. Now with the federal government yoked to Political Correctness, prosecuting the Tea Party thru the IRS, having the Justice Department sticking it’s nose everywhere. Yeah, we just can go with a conventional candidate. We need somebody with thick skin who won’t back down.

Roger Ailes should start DrugeView, online TV, with Milo Yiannapoulis as anchor and story leads provided by Matt, who daily would carry a big link to the vid channel:

And they could get a bunch of young conservative viewers, maybe.

I think they could do it.

Bernstein is senile. He got lucky in the ‘70’s because he stumbled across a story that had legs, because the media hated Nixon. If the current media was even 25% as anti-admin as back in those days, President Biden would be finishing out his term.

That’s funny. ABC News tonight said Ailes is “responsible” for Trump. Hmmmmm.

But it’s obvious the media has missed the boat and does not understand the people’s anger.

Carl Bernstein is no legend. He’s an idiotic leftist political hack. I’m guessing he’s a substance abuser, and I know he’s still riding on Bob Woodward’s coattails.

Matt Drudge was a VERY early Freeper and showed up IN PERSON to TWO different national FreeRepublic events.

And he didn’t throw his weight around AT ALL, and was totally cool.

In fact, he was a completely modest, self-effacing participant who I believe just could not stand staying away.

Matt linked to FR (many times to his detriment) and was responsible for something like 1/3 of Freepers finding their way here, back in the day.

We owe Matt SO MUCH and I’ll never forget it.

For the past 14 months, all the so called experts, pundits, lying media, lawyer politicians, journalist and network hacks were wrong.

Now this sawed off SOB is going to tell us why Trump is the nominee?

Right~
