I feel so much empathy for her, Jim. She had so much tragedy and grief in her life. It doesn’t matter how wealthy she may have been. Money can’t heal the kind of tragedy she endured...
My s-i-l wanted me to have a site, on which to expound, but I'm severely non-techie, don't want to moderate a site, and don't think that anyone would care about my disjointed spewings about whatever hit me that day. LOL
I was very lucky and grew up in a family that never talked down to children, but told me all kinds of wonderful stories, many of which were factual history lessons. :-)
Ostensibly, Jackie was trying to reach back and help a secret service officer into the car.
No doubt she correctly assessed who/what the Kennedys were/are.
But, her actions really do reflect a mama bear protecting her cubs. I know that if I were her, after Bobby was killed, I would have feared for the safety of my children. It was reported that she did say “They’re killing Kennedys”, and “they” were.

You know, people like that have a way of coming to the Lord one way or the other. Hope so.
Jackie was a money grubber; so it wasn't just about getting away from the Kennedys, though that was a HUGE part of it. She hated them and how Papa Joe still ran his adult childrens' lives. On top of that, she did NOT want her kids to be wild, like their first cousins were. Her kids weren't as bad, but yes, they were still kinda "wild" too.
I guess I did miss that day. What would the federal government have to say about that, and where?

My father recorded the immediate radio programs and interviews after the incident. Individual after individual reported seeing the man on the grassy maul. It was remarkable how consistent their stories were. As soon as the story changed and LHO was arrested he immediately said something was up. Dad was a lawyer who had graduated at top of class and clerked as a federal court system was no fool. He was very methodical and was upset how quickly all those people were immediately ignored to expedite the official story.
