Police pepper spray and arrest 17 Communist protesters trying to burn the Stars and Stripes outside RNC in the most violent rally since convention began
Police pepper sprayed and arrested a group of Communists as they attempted to burn the US flag outside the Republican National Convention.
Officers arrested 17 people after a violent melee broke out near the gates of the Quicken Loans Arena, preventing delegates and journalists from entering the stadium.
One police officer was pushed to the ground as cops attempted to separate the Communists from their rivals, which included members of a group called 'Bikers for Trump'. It was the most turbulent protest since the four-day convention began on Monday.

I hear Soros is paying anarchists to protest at the convention with a bonus if they get arrested.
I’d imagine they were close by though.

A couple of things to clear up. I saw another article earlier about this, went back and looked it up.
Flag burner set himself on fire, instead of the flag, cops were spraying a fire extinguisher, not pepper spray. The two can be confused by a similar design of cannisters and both are eye irritants. If you look at the pictures in the article linked in this thread, one very clearly shows a cannister labeled “COLDFIRE TACTICAL”. I looked it up, fire extinguisher.
The original article I read, said the cop shoved him to the ground yelling “you’re on fire, stupid”, and they put the fire out. The police were on the way to break it up for safety reasons, they didn’t have a permit to protest and were in a tight circle, which made it also a fire hazard.

There is probably a minimum number of people required to have a riot. So far the lefties have yet to field enough people for that. Really low protestor turnout. The largest organized body I have seen was 400 BLMers and they were very peaceful and orderly.
Seems like a proper response to anyone burning the flag would be to yell: “Fire!” and deluge them using fire extinguishers.
I read a couple of the protest organizers are blaming Ohio's Open Carry laws.
They said would be protestors are telling them that they are afraid of legally armed ordinary citizens might be carrying and won't come to protest.
Of all the reasons, that seems the most plausible.
