Clinton Campaign Plans to Pull a Romney on Donald Trump

A new spin on an old attack

As they gather in Philadelphia Monday to nominate Hillary Clinton, Democrats plan to take a lesson, if not outright direction, from their playbook for defeating the last wealthy Republican nominee, Mitt Romney.

Four years ago, Barack Obama relentlessly caricatured Romney as an out-of-touch millionaire, who could not relate to the needs and concerns of ordinary workers. Clinton’s campaign plans to do the same — and worse — with their new enemy, Donald Trump, honing their attack on the bombastic billionaire, as a leader who only looks out for himself.

Joel Benenson, the Obama-turned-Clinton ad-maker, previewed the assault in an interview with TIME. “He’s been a deadbeat when it comes to paying people who did work for him, and I don’t think that’s what white working-class voters are looking for in a President,” said Benenson.

Uh huh. This worked on Mittens because the public did not know him very well and he did not respond.

Trump is very familiar to people - he’s been in the public eye for years and is all over the media now. Unlike Romney he connects with the common people. And he will fight back. And he will turn this type of thing back on Crooked Hillary and her rapist husband and the DNC who stole the primaries from Bernie and his millions of supporters.

Good luck with that. This strategy from the women who routinely gets $250K for a 45-minute speech. To top it off, her husband gets more. Obama was able to pull than off because his hypocrisy was not so glaringly obvious.

Great strategy, so long as nobody in the media recalls the Clintons selling US rocket technology to the chinese for their own campaign donations or selling US uranium companies to the Russians for donations to their do nothing "charity" or stealing furniture from the White House or (Fill in your own personal favorite here)

The only reason 0bama got elected is because of the color of his skin.

The Sea Hag doesn’t have that advantage.

Romney stood back and allowed himself to be portrayed as a vulture capitalist. Trump has already taken the first step to immunize himself from such a bio with that manager of the Trump Winery. At the convention she described how Trump bought a broken down property, invested money into improvements and made it a big success.

Should be able to turn that into an ad - and find many other testimonials from non-employees. They need to start right now to prevent the Dems from getting ahead of the game with those who don’t pay attention.

They are publishing a graphic novel version of Clinton Cash! Brilliant move! Just think of how many millennials who would not have read the book or watched the movie will now be exposed to it. You have to reach them where they are.

Romney just sat there and took the MSM’s crap.
Trump is a counter puncher who will destroy them.

Yeah, Hillary is really in touch with the working class. Her servants are like one of the family.

Oh yeah...

To her uniformed Secret Service protector...

"No Ma'm, I'm not allowed to do that."

You mean the woman who wears jackets that cost 12k and his daughter that wears dresses that cost 135 bones? This woman has already spent over 100 million on attack ads on him.

Smearing the opponent is the only thing that they have.

Normally, it is the last resort among major campaign themes - some thing that is carefully distanced from the campaign itself through surrogates.

But Hillary can’t go out in the press to charm (she is incapable) or convince - she has to be hidden from the press. Don’t expect a lot of debates.

She has no real accomplishments to tout - in fact she has to conceal the biggest elements of her tenure.

She has no persuasive policy solutions to offer, for the problems that voters care about (economy and security) - she is wedded to policies that caused the problems.

Unlike most Republicans however, Trump is a swift counter-puncher, who pulls no punches. Hillary is likely to have a political glass jaw, because of all the skeletons in her closet, her brittle personality, and the distrust of her that is already firmly entrenched in people’s minds.

Although smears are all they really have to go with, they are probably very afraid to go there. Sucks to be them.

Isn't Hillary now worth $100 million due to the Clinton Foundation? Wasn't it reported that Hillary hasn't driven a car in about a decade?
