RALEIGH The US Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals on Friday overturned the 2013 elections law case that included the voter ID provision.
The three-judge panel found that the law was adopted with discriminatory intent.
The ruling prohibits North Carolina from requiring photo identification from voters in future elections, including the November 2016 general election, restores a week of early voting and preregistration for 16- and 17-year-olds, and ensures that same-day registration and out-of-precinct voting will remain in effect.
Challengers of the elections law overhaul shepherded through the Republican-led General Assembly in 2013 and signed into law by Gov. Pat McCrory quickly lauded the ruling.
With surgical precision, North Carolina tried to eliminate voting practices disproportionately used by African-Americans. This ruling is a stinging rebuke of the states attempt to undermine African-American voter participation, which had surged over the last decade, said Dale Ho, director of the ACLUs Voting Rights Project. It is a major victory for North Carolina voters and for voting rights.
This is a developing story. Check for updates.
Yeah. So much for 3 equal branches...
Rat judges = Rat results.
What I see here is counter fraudulent voting by good people to save the union. Just driving from precinct to precinct. Showing up and asking to vote. I actually predict thousands doing this. Why wouldn’t they?
Still possible, e.g. (1) If close they can’t cheat; (2) Trump snags a bigger piece of the “minority” vote than the Democrats ever imagined.

The left sees an opening....with SCOTUS tied 4-4, they are trying to get as many cases through the appellate courts that they know will stand when SCOTUS deadlocks.
The governor could call in a militia.
At some point, the Federal leviathan has to be tamed.
The problem with evil is, that it never knows where to stop. It will go too far sooner or later and get caught.
Remember all the enemedia screeching when GW Bush fired a mere eight of them?
I just am waiting for one of these states to stand up to these clowns and say no we are not going to change OUR state law on this. Photo ID is easily obtained and if they really want to do something, the states could put legal photo ID in with the welfare or EBT checks. Then it’s delivered right to the ones they’re worried about and if the recipient loses it, then oh well, it’s on them and they don’t vote. Yeah I know, when pigs fly.
!!!
Apparently minorities never buy beer, cigarettes or drive cars...
Argued: June 21, 2016 Decided: July 29, 2016 Before MOTZ, WYNN, and FLOYD, Circuit Judges. (from ruling)
...one Clinton appointee, Judge Diana Gribbon Motz, and two Obama appointees, Judges James Wynn and Henry Floyd...
As expected.
This ruling disenfranchises my legitimate vote!!!
Yes, I do. I scratched my head at the time. Of course that was before Fox News was gaining ground and social media wasn't what they are today.
I didn't know that judges can read minds.
"With surgical precision, North Carolina tried to eliminate voting practices disproportionately used by African-Americans."
Unbelievable. I will never understand this racist position that is against our most basic right to vote because someone doesn't have an ID. If they can't prove their right to vote, then they should be denied. Rent receipts, drivers licenses, utility bills are NOT proof of citizenship. Only verified citizens should be allowed in such a crucial right.
Personally, I'd like to go back to Property Owners only voting, no matter race, ethnicity, sex, age, or even LGBTQRSTUF. Those who have no chips in the game, should not be allowed to play. They will always vote more treasury into their pockets from others.
Every polling place in America should have a “Face Recognition Video In Use” sign, right at the entrance.
