I had longer waits for Ruger’s SR1911 when it first came out. I had calls into two places and both called me within a week of each other. I ended up buying both! I also bought their Commander size SR1911 when I happened in a store that had one loose.....

The difference between liberals and conservatives:

Liberals want to see them fail and go bankrupt.

Conservatives want to see them become filthy rich and wildly successful.

I am shocked that a weapons manufacturer would be able to profit during a gun boom. Shocked.

Setting aside the childish play on words (”gun boom”), of COURSE S&W is profiting! Who did you expect to benefit from vastly increased sales of firearms if not manufacturers of firearms??? PETA? Goodyear? The Clinton Foundation?

The simplest logic seems to be beyond the grasp of liberals.

All my fault, I suspect

Just bought an M&P Shield - kept waiting for the price gouging to end - finally broke down and got one for $430.00

Bought three S&W, getting rid of 2 because I found I really don’t care for their handling. But, found others. All 100% American-made.

Now if only S&W would get the f&#$ out of Massachusettstan. The incredible crap the AG there is pulling with her unilateral edict against all guns is anathema to freedom:

From weaponsman.com:

In Massachusetts, gun owners, would-be gun owners, and Federal licensees have been having a hard time getting any information about the constantly-changing gun ban that national socialist Attorney General Maura Healey (Heil Healey!) imposed as a stunt before heading to the DNC to, she expects, boost her political career.

Healey’s office will not answer questions by letter or email, because the last thing they want is to have a written document holding them to a single position. Instead, her minions will answer questions by telephone. But she will not permit callers to record the conversation; in Massachusetts, recording a conversation without the permission of both sides is a felony, and in this way, she prevents having to take responsibility for her anchorless position.

They also refer people to this page in which the AG’s office attempts to explain what a law means, when it means whatever the Red Queen says it does, no more and no less, at any given moment.

http://www.mass.gov/ago/public-safety/awbe.html

(It also includes a laundry list of Democrat politicians who support the ban, which includes, stop us if this shocks you, all of the “non-partisan” gun-control groups that say they’re only for “common-sense measures.” No, that didn’t shock us, either).

But Mass. gun owners noticed something funny about the page. It kept changing. For example, .22 rifles were included, then not; rifles have been through several iterations. (Current definition, which might have changed by the time you see it, is that any semi-auto centerfire rifle that can accept 6 or more rounds in a detachable or fixed magazine, is an “assault rifle” and is banned in the People’s Republic of Mass. ...(graphic omitted)

So the few hardy surviving gun owners in this hostile environment used the internet changelog technology of changedetection.com to make a page tracking Healey’s ever-evolving position.

https://www.changedetection.com/log/gov/mass/awbe_log.html

Unfortunately, the guy who set this page up wasn’t able to do it in time to catch the early iterations of the wording. However, there are 13 changes logged since the tracker went live on 25 July, and some of them are quite substantive. On 3 August, 192 words were added. On 5 August, almost 1600 words, 24% of the page. On 19 August, 1327 words added and 317 deleted. It’s been changed three times in the last five days — so far.

Is the instability of the guidance here a simple consequence of Heil Healey!’s ambition and corruption filtered through her and her staff’s equally simple incompetence? Or is it a deliberate attempt to undermine Heil Healey!’s enemies with fear, uncertainty or doubt?

Meanwhile, the AGO is doing little to nothing to pursue actual violent criminals. They’re her partners in the System; people who might vote for her opponent, they are her enemies. The distinction is everything to her and to hers.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Someone should check the investment portfolios of these outspoken "gun control" advocates.

We all (everyone on either/any side of "gun control" related issues) know that whenever some libtard in power makes noise about gun control, introducing this legislation or that, demand surges. We've seen this cycle probably a dozen or more times nationally, many more at state and local levels.

Predictably, for anyone with better than a 5th grade understanding of business, companies in the firearms, ammunition, and accessories realm see increased sales, increased profits.

I believe it is possible, likely even, that some of these libtards - recognizing the futility of tilting at the 2nd Amendment windmill - have decided to at least cash-in on the unavoidable good fortune of their "enemies" - the firearms industry. So I expect there are some out there quietly invested in the industry - maybe well hidden, or through family members, etc. Whenever things settle down - they buy, then make noise, drive up demand, company stocks push up, they profit...

Cynical, yes. But as the saying goes, follow the money. Many of the "gun control" proposals you hear or read about are so wildly stupid you know they cannot be serious about them. They have to be intentionally crafted to rile up the "bitter clingers" and drive up sales. Has to be. No-one could be ignorant enough to believe some of these "gun control" proposals would work. They have to be red herrings meant to jack up demand.

Al Gore has profited from “global warming”...
Hillary has profited from pay-for-play, Clinton foundation, and speeches...
Members of Congress have profited from graft, corruption...
Obama worth over $11 million on presidents salary?...

They don’t make, or sell, a product or service. They “profit” from the American taxpayer.

You'll really enjoy that; it's fun to shoot. Get yourself a decent red-dot optic for it, and buy lots of ammo and magazines. You might want to start loading for the FN Five Seven cartridge, too.

Selling guns? Making profits? Is that normal? I think it’s normal to make profits when you sell.

Firearms manufacturers aren't, for the most part, publicly traded, Smith & Wesson and Ruger being notable exceptions. Speculating on stock prices based on political rumors is not really conservative investment, although it can certainly turn a tidy profit, timed correctly. But firearms manufacturers can fail as well, Colt being an example of one firm who foundered where the others were thriving, due in part (I am told) on an over-dependence on government contracting rather than civilian sales.

It is ironic that surges in buying are so dependent on political hostility in office but it's perfectly predictable. Those gains aren't forever. A concerted effort such as California's to place impossible restrictions on sales can drive them down just as artificially. Caveat emptor.
