He is definitely in protective custody. It’s a lot safer for him but that doesn’t mean he is untouchable. Not every inmate in PC is a diddler or rapist, there are ex gang members in there too. Maybe a fellow diddler will give him a beating to get his name in the paper.

Cultural aversion to bathing? Maybe in some places but baths were an essential part of Kievan-Russian culture since recorded history began there. For peasants AND nobility. It was customary to bathe a minimum of 3 times a week. Mothers were required to bathe every day for 40 days before and after birth. In the winter you had hot bath shacks and in the summers you had the cool rivers. They made their own soaps from animal fats/skins. Teeth were brushed with crushed minerals and various herbs. Not as convenient as hot showers today but people were definitely FAR from filthy.

Air conditioning wasn’t as necessary when you had no concrete and plenty of trees to moderate the heat. I spend ~50% of my time in a rural home fully shaded by trees and never used air conditioning there once. The AC has been sitting in a box since I brought it there 10 years ago. When I go to the nearest town, the temperature there is 10-20 degrees hotter than my home. Taking advantage of shading and natural air currents, people lived without AC for all history. Yes, weak people would die in a random extended heatwave. They can also die any day today if their power randomly goes out.

Yes, doing farm work in the heat is terribly hard but fields today still don’t have AC and likely wont for a long time. Yes, adults had to work sunrise to sunset for food/heat. But today most people sit in a damn office sunrise to sunset. Humans were designed for moving and sweating all day. Not sitting at a damn desk stressing over petty politics.

I think we are talking past each other. I am NOT talking against the virtue of working hard all day, sweating and earning your labor the manual way. In fact, it does help you burn fat, which the modern man certainly needs.

What I am trying to get across is that the life before modern comforts, including modern medicine and hygiene practices, was hell (by modern standard). You cannot have bygone era peasant walk a modern hallway and not have the entire building evacuated for foul smell, dripping dirt, and untreated pathogens like smallpox, TB, and plague.

“And all the women were married in their teens until around the 1950s (when industrialization came to the USSR). Average marrying age in my family was about 17 before then”

At age 23 or a few months earlier I was told to my face that I was a failure because I did not have a wife and children already. I was driving a new Mustang I bought for myself, I was earning a salary that would buy more than seventy thousand a year will buy now, I had had my honorable discharge from military service since my 21st birthday, I was born in 1944. I think every girl in my high school graduating class was married by age twenty. Some never finished high school, they were married before their senior year, one never even made it to freshman year. All the public school buses in this state at the time were driven by students who were sixteen or older. Most of us had been working on the family farm since we were big enough to do any kind of chore and or working for hire as soon as old enough to be legally employed part time.

What amazes me is that sometimes I hear people say that kids now are “more mature” than they used to be at the same age. What on Earth do they mean?

You cannot make the claim that ALL women married in their teens until the 1950s....

Your family history is interesting.

Nowhere has anyone shown where the Bible mandates marriage in at the age of thirteen. But then some folks want to pick and chose.Do you eat shrimp or pork??

This started as a thread about a pedophile who attacked a teenager and some have chosen to try and make it about God telling thirteen year olds to marry

And again where does God in the Bible say that marriage is mandated at age 13?

If it is the age at which one can bear children then what would you say about the 9 year old girl who has her mensus?

It’s right next to the verse where God tells me that being molested as a kid merely highlighted my own shortcomings.

“You cannot have bygone era peasant walk a modern hallway and not have the entire building evacuated for foul smell, dripping dirt, and untreated pathogens like smallpox, TB, and plague.”

Peasants from some places maybe yes. Settlements with such sanitary conditions were very short lived though.

But for all cultures that survived a long time, regular bathing was a mandatory practice and even somewhat of a religion. Entirely without any modern technology.

Soap and tooth “paste” were being used long before people started writing down history. By peasants AND nobility. Legend says natural soap was discovered and used by prehistoric people along riverbanks long ago.

Even my grandparents lived half their lives without electricity, plumbing, gas and modern medicine. They didn’t see cars or planes until much later in life. They told me first hand what life was like and it wasn’t “hell”. Just different. Instead of working at an office or factory, you worked the same hours on your land and home. The only “hell” they experienced was when the commies and Nazis came along.

If you subtract the insane politics/wars of old times, life without modern conveniences wasn’t “hell” outside the cities.

A pedo blaming his victim. I’ve never heard of that in my life. /s
People like this need to be put out of everyone else’s misery. Victims or their parents get the first shot.

As far as I have read, YOU are the only one making reference to the spurious “13 year old bride” of today, or the “fertile” 9 year old.

Interesting, no?

“We keep a legal fiction going, sometimes, that people who are older than biblical marriageable age are still children. I’m not sure the Lord is truly happy with that kind of delay of responsibility.”

You’re insane. I mean a sick, twisted kind of insane. muslims think exactly the same way you do.

Even worse is a mother blaming her kid for the pedo’s actions and protecting him from prosecution.

Not sure if there’s anything lower than that.
