There are many, many low things in the world.
In order to try to understand it, we need answers to questions such as: How did the world come to be? Why are people passing through the world?
The only real cure to the low woes of the world, whatever they might be (and there is no way to compare Jane’s low woe to John’s, it is like trying to compare an apple to an orange) is the love of God and that can only come by invitation. And in discovering the need to invite it, we discover that we have been opposing it and learn to stop doing that.
What to us seems a situation of unspeakable cruelty may, in fact, be the only opportunity for us to willingly yield to kindness from its ultimate Source. C. S. Lewis attempted to argue for the same in his famous work “The Problem Of Pain.”
